To Give You a Size of the Immense and Growing Size of Illegal Immigration

I'm curious what you think military aged Chinese males can acquire through espionage via crossing the Mexican border that any other military aged Chinese male could do via connections, payoffs, etc...?
A bit odd so many people from China choose this route to get into the USA;

San Diego Border Patrol agents have faced an untenable flood of Chinese migrants sneaking over the border each day, raising fears over the growing influence of the hostile state in the US. Border sources claim that 269 Chinese migrants were apprehended by CBP officials in a single day this week, according to Fox News' Bill Melugin - with the number not including those who manage to cross undetected. Chinese nationals now make up the largest growing demographic of migrants crossing the porous US-Mexico border. And 2024 is already well on-track to easily exceed the staggering 37,000 Chinese migrants who were apprehended by the CBP in the 2023 fiscal year. So far in the 2024 fiscal year, which began in October, over 20,000 Chinese migrants have been apprehended. In 2021, this number stood at just 342.

What... you want them to get smuggled the old fashioned way?

The discussion notes that an estimated 50,000 Chinese are smuggled into the United States each year (report is 1999); that smugglers receive fees as high as $30,000; and that the perils of the journey to the United States include hunger, filthy and crowded conditions, and physical and sexual abuse.

Really? We're bringing Yellow Peril back now? Is there any defunct political rhetoric too stupid to be revived these days?

So you are fine with 30k plus people from China just walking across the US Mexico border? You don’t think it’s even a little bit odd that a lot of these people choose this method/route into the USA and pay $30k to do it? No curiosity on your part at all?

Do you think China is friendly towards the USA, that China would never be hostile to US interests?

You're assuming that espionage is the objective...
What else did you have in mind, work below min wage at Italian eateries?

Makes you wonder why we even bother checking passports or have customs for Chinese people coming on planes to the US.

amazing that the Democrats in Congress won’t pass a bill to fix the border!

It's not an unusual number considering the recent scale of border crossings. My view on our border issues in general is more nuanced than what you are suggesting. I'm not one to see conspiracies just because someone has a different skin color than me, though. You want to scare me, show me evidence of an evil plot, that's more substantial than "don't you think it's suspicious that some people are from other countries". No, I don't, why would I? You can be a destination country that a lot of people want to migrate to, or you can be a dumb little shithole that no one wants to go to and most people are trying to leave. That's just the globalized world.

And China in particular strikes me as a place that a lot of people might want to, you know, flee. You read the news enough to know the list as well as I do. Hong Kong discontents. Uyghurs and other Muslim and Christian minorities. Vietnamese and North Korean refugees. Guangzhou Africans. Falun Dafa. There are many and various peoples despised and feared by the Chinese government, and all of them subject to detention at the drop of a hat. I don't expect you to understand, but there are actually a lot of people for whom living in an authoritarian state with tightly constrained economic opportunities is not an attractive position to be in. If you want me to hate someone, it's going to take more than a vague implication that if someone is from China they must be up to something. Bcause as it stands, their "cover story" makes more sense than your "real story".

I like how the article says we 'apprehended' them. They literally look for the first security agents they can find to declare asylum, and they all have the same reason: They don't like the direction China is going wrt human rights, freedom of speech, retaliation, etc. So they come here and join (potentially) a whole host of, predominantly, republican ideals - but nope. For US repubs its some conspiracy. They should go back home and overthrow their own government.

For those warmongering idiots in the US - the more Chinese we have here, the less we have to fight in an actual engagement.

Ya know,
There's a huge gray area between your histrionics and no curiosity at all.

But it brings me back to my conservative values. I can easily imagine a ton of people, out of the 1.4B Chinese, who would desperately want to immigrate here for extremely rational reasons and benefit the USA. I sure as hell would, if I lived there.

And since majority of chinese don't like what they have in China, prepare for 1billion refugees.
Curious why they don't go to Russia since it's right next door?

Oh wait, no it isn't.
