Donald Trump said former Rep. Liz Cheney is a “war hawk” who should be fired upon, as he raged against one of his most prominent intra-party critics while campaigning Thursday night in Arizona.

“She’s a radical war hawk. Let’s put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her, OK?” the former president said at a campaign event in Glendale with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson. “Let’s see how she feels about it, you know, when the guns are trained on her face.”

Trump also hurled insults at Cheney, once the third-ranking Republican in House leadership, calling her “very dumb,” a “stupid person” and “the moron.”


Trump’s suggestion that Cheney be fired upon represents an escalation of the violent language he has used to target his political foes. And it comes days before an election in which the former president — who never accepted his 2020 loss — has already undermined public confidence. In recent weeks, he has also suggested a military crackdown on political opponents he has described as “the enemy within.”

Plus women are more reliable voters in the US compared to men and more than half of all female voters support Harris, so this doesn't mean she has it in the bag, but it certainly means that things are trending in her direction, unless huge numbers of male Trump supporters show up on Tuesday. That and the new pole in Iowa that CNN can't seem to stop talking about, does make me a bit more optimistic.

Generalized polls measure a complete population. Polling early voting is measuring a set of the voting population. Trump lost by a lot to Early Voters in Ohio in 2020.

It seems to be a new talking point for the GQP because I see it from different people all over. Of course, they don't really believe that but they are pretty certain it will appeal to incels who are incels because they think of women as ownable commodities who are subject to men's control.

More married women voting alone could indicate a greater likelihood of a “split spousal ticket”, or greater motivation for wives to vote even if the husband doesn’t.

It is another case of, OMG, is this where we are really heading? It was in the tea leaves and it was suspected but they are saying this outload, before the election.

My lingering concern is that it is working, which is why they are doubling down on it. First immigrants, now women. They are going for the deplorables in the minority vote.

MY woman told me “I voted!” In her high little lady voice.
Then I saw her ballot on the kitchen island.
“You said you voted!” Knew it was a mistake as soon as I said it.
“I DID!”
Had to bite my tongue, but even silence was seen as an attack. “I just have to mail it!”
Oh fuck. I knew it was too late to mail, and was about to let her know that.
“I mean, I gotta drop it off”
Satisfied, and with high confidence that she wasn’t exercising her rugged independence by voting for Trump, I let it slide.
Especially since I had messaged her pictures of the front and back of my filled-out ballot, to save her pretty little head from having to think, which we all know is a MAN’s job. Even SHE knew that, which is why she had begged me to save her having to look up all those issues, judges and other stuff in the 90page handbook they sent.
Ok then - civic duty fulfilled! 2x!
