The Race For 2024

Among those who have already voted, PBS says, Harris leads 56 percent to 42 percent. Almost 80 million ballots have been cast.
I don't like this info being released. It feels wrong.
Feels like insider trading or something.

Plus... I think that would be likely to backfire.
Backfire would imply that this info was released biased motive.
If early votes get released showing Harris with a substantial lead, it seems like it would motivate Trump supporters to go vote when they might have otherwise sat at home and done nothing. Same thing in reverse if the early votes showed Trump ahead. Either way, it seems like a bad idea to me.
I don't see how this is any different that releasing Exit Polling data as the day goes on. They don't do that, so why do this?

I agree. However that will result in not all ballots being counted on Election Day. And it’s just not humanely possible to count all those votes in one day. The country cannot allow Trump to stop the counting early. All legal votes should be counted! Every single one.

That wasn't my intention. Backfire is probably not the right term, though. More like whichever candidate had the lead would be at significant risk of the opposition rallying to overcome that known lead.

IIRC exit polling info doesn't start getting released until pretty late in the day. That said... the last several elections I haven't really bothered paying attention to exit polls, so I might have an outdated view. Most of the time I was on the west coast, and I just wasn't going to stay up that late on a work night, I would find out the next day anyway.

Although in 2016, my husband did wake me up in the middle of the night to tell me "President Trump" because neither of us thought there was any chance in hell of THAT happening. It was a very Twilight Zone moment.

Kackling Kamala is incapable of answering a question;

Kamala Harris dodged a question on Sunday on if she voted for California’s Proposition 36, a controversial ballot measure that increases sentences for certain drug and theft crimes.
“I am not gonna talk about the vote on that because, honestly, it’s the Sunday before the election and I don’t intend to create an endorsement one way or the other,” the US vice-president and Democratic presidential nominee, who votes in California, told reporters at a rally in Detroit.

Teh Gruaniad

What a coward she is.

Man, you must have shitty news media in Australia to think this is a tough decision. We've got Trump, a manchild who clearly should have run in the first place and when he was fired, got a lot of supporters to break into the US Capitol bldg to try to keep his job. Against a prosecutor, Attorney General, US Senator, who can go a whole paragraph without abusing hyperbole.

Gee, I wonder.

Seems Joe Rogan has come out and endorsed Trump. That is very telling.
No it isn't. Everyone already knew the guy was in the tank for Trump, and that he was doing a shit job of trying to hide it.

It's a shame. He was good standup comedian. Now though, he can fuck off to Retardville.

It may not be a tough decision but unexpected or undesired things sometimes happen.
