Dem Post Mortem

Why do you believe that Trump's view is representative of all conservatives?

What leads you to feel that the ads for a single specific candidate represent the views of all conservatives?

What mockery did Fox push that specified college educations? Why do you assume that infotainment has the beliefs of all conservatives nailed?
Why do you always argue using strawmen?
What part of those posts do you think is a strawman?

He just gave you three examples.

Questioning the assumptions made in an assertion is not a strawman.

In part I agree, but I fail to see where democrats pushed these policies.
You mean other than re-interpreting Title IX to require that schools must allow male-bodied students to play on girl's teams as long as those male-bodied students claim to identify as "girls"? And other than rewriting the Equal Rights Amendment so that it persistently conflates sex and gender identity? Other than pretty consistent support for male prisoners being allowed - at their discretion - to be housed in female prisons, regardless of what the female inmates think about it, and often against their objections, and with absolutely no requirement for physical alteration whatsoever? Other than praising a Dylan Mulvaney for his astonishingly and blatantly sexist portrayal of women in his "365 days of being a girl" brainless-bimbo behavior?
Yup, and now an abortion ban can be put in place, birth control banned, Title IX nixed....

Brilliant problem solving skills you got there.

Ooookay. Of course, in this case you are questioning assumptions of your own manufacture and ownership, as you are free to do.

Question: What leads you to assume that something or someone has led Ziprhead to feel that the ads for a single specific candidate represent the views of all conservatives? Or are you just maybe assuming that for argument's sake?
I mean, just for example, don't bother answering.

Hey, I kinda like it but why go halfway? Just put all those bad people in one bigass place - maybe convert Bryant-Denny Stadium to more productive use. Sure there would be difficulties in the short term, but the long term cost savings would be well worth it. Plus, what a deterrent! If half the women get raped and 25% of the overall population dies annually, not many people are going to want to be criming any more!

If today's announced cabinet picks are approved, we're even more fucked. Kristi "if I can't solve a problem I'll just shoot it" Noem is on deck, Elon Musk is up for a new meme-inspired post (I'm not kidding) and Trump has nominated a Fox News host to take over the entire military.

I'm not saying this is all bad, but does anyone have stock tips on companies that still manufacture Zyklon-B? I'm just asking questions...

Also Mike Huckabee was announced as ambassador to Israel. I hope all of the "I didn't vote for Harris because of Israel" people are happy.

Looking at Nevada... Latinos were the change.

Latino males went from +6 Biden to +24 Trump. (this was a statistical tie with white males!)
Latino females went from +47 Biden to +22 Trump.
Latinos represent about 19% of the vote in Nevada, hence why this staggering change didn't lead to a landslide in Nevada for Trump.

The other thing, white women went from 35% to 30% of the vote, so despite Harris improving with them, it didn't benefit her much.

Blacks, whites, "other" were just about the same in the Exit Polls with 2020. Which again, Trump's campaign was surgical on messaging. Personally, I find it almost impossible to believe we could see such a change in just one demographic.

Here is another odd thing, again, the sort of 'can't fix stupid' issue. 55% of those polled in Nevada indicated that undocumented folks should be provided an offer of legal status. 55%! Of those 77% voted for Harris, 21% voted for Trump. The guy who ran a campaign hanging heavily on deportation. It'd be like supporting desegregation in the 50s, and voting for Strom Thurmond.

So in several states, we saw people voting against the issues they supported, abortion rights and legal status. That is probably the most surprising part of this election. The thought was Dobbs would carry weight, and it didn't, not like it did in 2022. People split GOP and Referendum/Issues.

And it's just more disingenuous spin and
straw-man arguments too.

Instead of offering compromise solutions, she just bitches about fake shit that her propaganda spigots belch out (which she clearly reads, regardless of her claims otherwise).

Every one of her claims has been fought, and nobody here (nor elsewhere) really thinks as she claims; those exceptions that prove the rule through their infrequency ought be fought, sure, but every compromise solution has been rejected by the Reich "Right".

Yeah, I'm expecting that they use Trump as a patsy for a revelations-based power play.

The move by Latinos from Dem to Rep has been brewing for a while. It shouldn't really be a surprise all of a sudden. I'm not exactly super wonky when it comes to politics, but even I saw it coming years ago. And was this demographic shift even on Kamala's radar? I saw a shit ton of catering in her campaign to young and/or black women (with the likes of celebrity appearances by Beyonce, Megan thee Stallion, Lizzo, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Oprah, etc), but that was all just preaching to the choir. Did she even mention anything about Latino men and families...ever? Maybe she did and I just missed it.

This is not the Dems fault. This is the Supreme Court's fault. Trump should never have been allowed to run but the Supreme Court overruled the constitutional requirement that candidates for the presidency not be traitors.
This is the GOP's fault for not impeaching the guy for unleashing a riot at the US Capitol Building, instead of contesting the election in a courtroom.

...and the electorate for voting for that asshole again.

Oh FFS, follow the damned posts back. Poli made the assertion, which contained the assumptions that I was questioning. Zipr decided to jump in all on his own and give an answer to the question I asked Poli.

I have assumed nothing other than that Zipr's defense of Poli's assertion implies that Zipr *agrees* with Poli's assertion.

I disagree. Even if the Supreme Court would have decided against Trump, someone else would have taken his place like Vivek or DeSantos with his identical MAGA platform. So other than a bad court ruling, history would be no different for the democrat outcome because Harris would have still lost by perhaps even a larger margin.

Harris just was clearly just not ready for this and Biden went senile.

Cults don't switch leaders easily. That's why they are cults.

If he wants to jump on your transparent attempt at a time-wasting derail, that's fine by me.

What "gendered suffix problem" did Latinos want to be solved?
Implicit exclusion of trans and non-binary people from Latino spaces. I take it you never learned how to Google? Am I your Google?
Sorry, but I'm calling bullshit on this. Like it or not, the vast majority of Americans don't give a damn about any trans issues, and it's especially off putting for Latinos, who have a serious conservative streak. It's a losing cause in terms of getting and then maintaining a voter base.

The group is super vocal and sucks up a lot of air on the internet, which gives them an outsized voice. You wanna see attempted cancellation, see their psychotic and unrelenting attacks on JK Rowling. That's the epitome of the movement.

The Dems need to moderate their position on this issue e.g. we believe in equal rights for everyone, but not special rights. No more extra accommodations, no more taxpayer funded surgeries, and no more of this "There's no such thing as a man or a woman" bullshit.

If you wanna alter what you're born with, that's up to you, but not until you've reached the age of consent, and insurance companies should never be required to pay for that. It's a voluntary surgery.

I don’t think anyone is saying “there is no such thing as a man or a woman.” They are saying something perhaps subtly but crucially different, as can be seen from P.Z Myers’ rebuttal to Jerry Coyne.

If people want to get worked up and lathered up about trans’ rights, that’s their problem.
Yeah, sure.

The trans movement is a symbol of just how out of touch the Democrats are, but it's not just that one thing. As my Trump voting cousin told me last night, "Dude, it's all that shit."

Today we learned that Trump is appointing a Fox show host to be SecDef.

So no, it's not just some vague, nondescript random asshole's problem. It EVERYONE'S problem now.

ETA: if you've been to college in the last 10 years, you would've heard the "No such thing as a man or woman" bullshit. That nonsense got out into the public sphere. It came from the far left and was used to great effect in this election. People are fed up with it,
