Biden Pardons Hunter

It's funny you're accusing me of hypocrisy for opposing Conahan's commutation. I'm sure if I'd posted, "Gee whillickers, I sure do approve of Conahan's commutation!", you would be accusing me of hypocrisy for opposing one of Biden's actions and not another.
That a hazard you have to face when you willfully step into the “passing judgment on others” business. If you kept it down to say, Hunter OR Conahan (I won’t try to tell you which) you’d avoid the hypocrisy charge du jour.

Nothing of the sort. What Conahan did to those kids is the same as what was being done to HB. That you don't find what is being done to HB objectionable is why I find hypocrisy.

Poli keeps harping on Hunter because “he broke the law!” Well duh, only in the case of a criminal President bent on revenge, would someone who didn’t break any laws need a pardon.
The terrible decision to pardon a guy who made his living destroying the lives of kids, is so many levels worse than anything Hunter ever DREAMED of doing, it beggars belief that Hunter’s pardon would bother someone so badly that they’d loudly argue against it in particular, yet never a word about pardoning someone who destroys kids lives for profit. The pardoning of Conahan is a REAL outrage. Hunter is not a threat to society - IMO he’s a model citizen compared to this asshole.
You fucking serious? Twenty pages of jumping down my ass for correctly calling out Biden for class-based corruption and you just now caught up with the bus? None of these new pardons or commutations surprise me. Most are justified, some are egregious travesties of justice, and the real problem is that Biden doesn't know the difference. He just read the news, freaked out about everyone seeing him as nepotistic, and arranged for a mass pardoning and commutation event to make it seem like he cared about "the common man" as well.

But he let his staff draw up the list, and didn't edit out the croneyism. A judge selling kids into slavery and calling it justice is exactly the kind of crime that people with more money than morals see as "not a real crime", or at least a less serious crime than knocking over a corner store for drinking money.

Of course, I don't doubt that Conahan had "good behavior" in prison, he was on track for an early release with or without the commutation. Why wouldn't he? He just sold some kids, he's "not a real criminal" in his own mind; he probably had coffee with the guards every morning. I wish more Americans understood what things are actually like in our prison system, and who profits and why, from the way the penitentiaries are set up.
I'm sensing a little hypocrisy here. Conahan used his position of authority to unjustifiably charge and sentence people who shouldn't have been. The same thing is happening to Hunter Biden but you support that.
Hunter did what he was accused of, by his own admission and that of his father. And much more besides; his wealth protected him from most of the consequences of drug addiction that would have been visited on any of Conahan's victims.
Hmmm. Hunter is rich so it's okay for the justice system to treat him worse than a poor person in the same situation.

EAT THE RICH!!! YAY!!!

The fuck? I said literally none of those things.

I do not believe the wealthy should be exempt from the law, no. I don't think anyone should be exempt from the law. That is not the same thing as saying that I think the law should be harder on the wealthy, although I think there are cases where that is necessary - a court waiving a $200 filing fee for a plaintiff who can't afford it is reasonable, for instance, even if the same waiver is not offered to a millionaire.

You literally said that Hunter had gotten away with crimes others would not have gotten away with and therefore Hunter should be subjected to charges no one in his situation is charged with. See the bolded.

Anyone else disagree with my interpretation?

Totally agree. That’s what Poli said in plain English. It’s getting a little repetitive though.

Biden said when he did his mass pardon that the people he pardoned deserved a second chance, rationalizing pardoning his son

Now he may proactively pardon Cheney form prosecution for charges on the investigation of the riots.

Biden has handed the precedence to Trump to pardon anyone in his administration.

The4 problem in the first pace was Biden said he would not pardon Hunter. When he was no lodger in the race he flip flopped. Add to that Biden's claims he never knew anything his son was doing, bullshit.

Trump makes the same defense in his real estate fraud case, everybody does it so he should not be prosecuted.

Hunter admitted guilt.

Some insist on spinning Biden as positive, I have always seen him as a double talking two faced politician.

When it looked like he was in the running for re-election it was Trump is not above the law., nobody is above the law. The usual political self serving duplicity.

Hunter Biden by all accounts was a creep with a rich influential father.

Was? has he died?
To be fair, the father is a creep too, so it's not really a surprise.
A shameless Putin apologist calling Biden a creep?

I wish here was a way to reject an unwanted like rep.

Hunter admitted guilt.
and whatever happened to that plea deal? 🤔
It was SUNK by a TRUMP-APPOINTED JUDGE.
I’m sure that must be standard procedure for this type of crime, yes?
It may be what has always happened to every plea agreement involving a suspect whose case was a useful political tool for the person who appointed the judge.

But that would just be coincidence.

I did say the bolded bit. I have never said that Hunter Biden ought to be "subjected to charges no one in his situation is charged with", nor do I think that should happen, nor has happened.

Biden has handed the precedence to Trump to pardon anyone in his administration.
you say that as if the precedent wasn’t already set by Trump in his previous administration.
On this thread, amongst other threads, we are constantly told that Biden (and the Democrats) operate on a different level to Trump (and the Republicans).
Now you are cliaming that because Trump behaved a certain way it is ok for Biden to do behave in that same way.

I am eagerly looking forward to this different level of behaivour.

Once again you are leaving out some pretty important context and motive.
