It seems Katie Zacharia is out the door after five days on the job. She obviously wasn't cut out for life in the fish bowl. There's a Mark Twain quote which applies to her situation, "Never tell a lie when the truth would do just as well."

She could have come out of the gate saying, "After law school, I decided the life of an attorney wasn't for me," and that would have been the end of the story.

I imagine this snowball from Hell got started rolling when someone in the Trump administration assumed she was a lawyer and she didn't correct them. After all, in the Trump administration, "background check" is a dirty word.

She's young and currently blonde, which is what Trump likes, so there was no reason think she would be worse than any of the previous press secretaries. She stepped into the trap that snares a lot of PR professionals. Instead of telling the story, she became the story.

A smarter person could have avoided all of this, but that's kind of the biography of the entire administration..

I did some stand-up gigs after going to a local comedy school. Played the Improv a few times. Got good feedback from actual working comics. Decided it wasn't for me and stopped after I had a really good set at a theater.

If someone had offered me an HBO special, I've have said "wow, thanks, but that's a bit out of my depth."

Plus, and MOST importantly, she is
NOT EPSTEIN.
Anything or anything that is not Epstein, is a fabulous thing for people to focus on. If they fuck up and make headlines, all the better. Like RFK Jr.

There has been an investigation. Just so much noise out there, you can't tell when anything productive has been released, reported on, or enacted.

I'd copy text, but Bloomberg won't let it happen. Long story short. Too much to do, too little time, What happens when idiots run the show and force staffers to do the impossible.

I believe that Hagsbreath gutted the staffing of the target research group because he doesn't think that minimizing civilian deaths matters. For that I think that he should at least be charged with manslaughter for reckless abandonment of duty.

Not publicly released yet, just leaks from anonymous sources. Given how bad the situation is it will likely not be released until the next decent administration (if we ever get one).

It is pretty small potatoes, but perfectly in character for this administration and Hegseth in particular. What I wonder if these jokers realize the globe itself (outside of its shape) must be pretty out of date when it comes to European, African, and Asian countries and their borders.

While I'm more than willing to believe this is true, I'm hesitant to take something that gets published in a book first before it breaks naturally.
