Then, while speaking to reporters on Wednesday about his efforts to take on China's trade practices, Trump pointed at the sky and said, "I am the chosen one."

It was a joke folks. Really. The best joke in the history of jokes!

Trump may have revealed US military secrets by tweeting a photo to taunt Iran

President Donald Trump looks to have shared a photograph of an intelligence briefing that could have exposed US military secrets to the world while taunting Iran over Twitter.

Iran on Thursday suffered a failure of a satellite launch vehicle that blew up on the ground. Immediately after the test, commercial satellites photographed the wreckage and sold the images to civilian analysts.

But on Friday, Trump shared an image that put the commercial satellite photography to shame. Trump's photo looks like it was snapped from a large print out of a very detailed close up of the launch. The notations and presentation of the image suggests it likely comes from US intelligence services, possibly in a briefing for the president.

Here is a very slanted op-ed piece that disagrees. Basically, the argument being made is that if someone was so fucking stupid so as to use a phone to make a happy snap of a photograph, they would be stomped on, hard. Trump is immune to such repercussions. And whilst I think Bolton is an amoral cunt, and Ivanka is pretty feckless, I don't see them getting away with doing something like that. Yet I could imagine a conversation with Trump would go something along the lines of:

"Sir, you can't take photos of classified intelligence"
"Yes I can. Do you know that I won the 2016 election? Nobody thought I could do it. I can do this as well. Nobody knows more about intelligence briefings more than me"
*sigh* "Yes, sir."

Trump is correct, kind of. By Friday the ridge that was holding the hurricane south was forecast to dissipate, which would cause the storm to turn. Prior to Friday, the storm was indeed modeled to potentially have impact on the Gulf, of which Alabama is on... but Trump didn't mention Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas as well. None of the models had any certainty where the storm would head after crossing Florida, so his conclusion on Alabama wasn't based on any actual models (this is assuming Trump wasn't being briefed on every model used).

To make matters worse, Trump being correct is definitely in the category of bare technicality, as his Tweet was on Sunday, two whole days after the models said the hurricane would slow down and shift to the north / northeast. Everyone makes mistakes, and luckily this mistake likely affected no one. But for Trump to double down on being out of date as an excuse... to hammer the media... well, that is Trump being the fucking idiot he is.

Look! Not that long ago, scientists thought that the Earth was the center of the solar system... which totally explains why I said the Sun revulved (sp) around the Earth.

Looks like photo was originally taken by Iranians themselves and then american spy (who is about to be executed) took an snapshot.

The only Persian text in the photo is on the launch pad itself, which only serves to show exactly how powerful the satellite imaging is in this case. How awesome our satellite imaging is would be something that we would want our enemies to be guessing at. Now they know without a doubt.

He may not make headlines, but I can't imagine that there's been a single day that, for example,
* Trump completed a full day's work
* Trump sat through an entire security briefing
* Trump's cabinet gave full and complete reports of their areas of responsibility without shading the truth towards Bonespur's expectations
* Trump's aides gave him everything that actually requires the President's signature with full disclosure
* Trump did not dispose of paperwork illegally
* Trump did not engage in at least one activity he either criticized Obama for doing, or threatened us all that Hillary would do if elected
* Trump did not abuse at least one prescription drug either by not having a prescription or it, or exceeding the prescribed dose, or having illegally obtained the prescription

...and so on.
