Assad falls

What is next?
Find Asshat before he’s able to regroup.
Is that even possible?
I thought his top official was in Damascus welcoming The Liberation.

Yeah, the PM is in charge with the blessings of the rebels. They’ll form a caretaker government. Assad’s fall was so quick after the fall of Aleppo, that it’s obvious his entire army had abandoned him. Aleppo is hundreds of miles from Damascus, but Homs fell so quickly and at that point the government just threw in the towel. It’s obvious that EVERYONE was just sick of him. He’s done and as I posted above, he may be dead as his plane disappeared over Homs.

he may be dead as his plane disappeared over Homs.
May be. Planes don’t cease to exist - there would be wreckage if it crashed. Is anyone looking for it?

At this point, there's very little such news I would have any confidence in coming from the area. If it's still being reported in a week...

Sky News is reporting that he has fled to Russia, confirmed by Russian state media.

"Assad and his family members have arrived in Moscow. Russia, for humanitarian reasons, has granted them asylum."

Ah yes...nothing says "humanitarian" like a brutal dictator hiding under the skirt of another brutal dictator.

Within ATACMS range?

Ukraine needs to target things when he and Putler are enjoying a brofest.

My guess is that Assad will be living the sort of carefree life that Vlad's been living...keeping "allies" at least 20 yards away, living in a reinforced bunker, and lying awake at night wondering which of his bodyguards is going to shank him.

Interesting that Saudi Arabia didn’t give him refuge. Perhaps Idi Amin taught them a lesson

"A small black hole would suck in our entire universe"?
A sufficiently small black hole would be blazing hot, intensely bright, and incapable of pulling you off your feet (much less sucking you, or your universe, in) from a metre away - as you approaced such an object, you would see it long before you even noticed its gravity, even in a vacuum. In our atmosphere, it would rapidly develop an even hotter and brighter accretion disc of air molecules.

Black holes get the energy to radiate Hawking radiation from their rest mass energy. So if a black hole is not accreting mass from outside, it will lose mass by Hawking radiation, and will eventually evaporate. For astronomical black holes, the evaporation time is prodigiously long — about 1061 times the age of the Universe for a 30 solar mass black hole. However, the evaporation time is shorter for smaller black holes (evaporation time t is proportional to M3), and black holes with masses less than about 1011kg (the mass of a small mountain) can evaporate in less than the age of the Universe. The Hawking temperature of such mini black holes is high: a 1011kg black hole has a temperature of about 1012Kelvin
...
The gravitational pull of such a mini black hole would be about 1 gee at a distance of 1 metre.

Assad was bad. The replacement might be worse.
Assad was not really bad.

Yup. And now he is safely in Moscow to give Adolf Putin blow jobs in exchange for cash looted from the Russian people and cocaine. Maybe they can party together with Trump and have whores piss on them.

Do you ever look in the mirror and ask yourself why you do this?
