California Ballot Proposition 510 passed with a slim majority, mandating that all buses must have jacuzzis installed, without any clauses for funding. The California DOT was left to implementing the statute under a tight budget.

Brobdingrag never hada Navy due to the nature of their coastline, and no experience building warships. After they made contact with the human world, though, a number of mothballed ships were made available to the giants to form the basis of their new Navy.
 
After Texas seceded, they had to create an office of the Texan Navy.
Their first admiral misunderstood the direction to build a 'little' Navy that would fit in the state's budget.
