Over 250,000 children tested positive for Covid-19, last week... alone!

About 2,400 are in the hospital with confirmed or suspected Covid-19.

Around 0 are in the hospital due to wearing a mask.

Metro Atlanta school districts recorded more than 24,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases since the start of the school year, according to the latest data reports.


As of Saturday, the cumulative case count for 14 area districts was 24,270. The number will grow because the Clayton County School District has not yet posted last week’s numbers.

The overall total for last week alone was nearly 6,000. Some districts saw their case counts drop due to a shortened week of classes timed to the Labor Day holiday.

That's just for Metro Atlanta alone. I saw on the news that a four year old died one day after testing positive for COVID.

Multiple districts continue to move schools or grades to remote learning on a temporary basis due to an increase of COVID-19 cases or individuals in quarantine. Districts are also facing shortages in teachers, school nurses, bus drivers and other staff due to outbreaks.

Parents continue to express frustration with the lack of uniformity in how districts record COVID-19 data as well as how they are notified when classes or schools pivot to virtual learning.

There is also a huge shortage of substitute teachers. I can totally understand that. Not only is subbing difficult, it pays less than 100 dollars a day in most counties. Several teachers have died of COVID in Georgia since the school year started.

I hope they speed up the approval of the vaccine for children under 12. Delta has caused a high number of hospitalizations of children as well as some deaths.

Middle school just closed because of Covid in my district. All learning is remote. Had a couple days of classes and that was it. I live on the edge of Pennsyltucky so that makes sense.

My local school district was all mask at the start of the school year... which began beginning of last week. Currently 0 Covid-19 cases.

The South has exploded with pediatric cases. Waiting to see how this runs out in other parts of the country, where cases have increased notably, but not at the magnitude seen in the south.

On Wednesday, the company said in a series of tweets that it was investigating the incident and then later said the woman no longer works for the company.

As stated in the other thread, I can only hope this holds up, as there are confounding and uncontrolled elements in the research, namely all the people got treated with the same ivermectin in the same place for the same reason, likely by the same people. It could be any one of those common elements...
