Just got off the phone with my daughter. She's so frustrated with her boyfriend who just won't get the vaccine. He says he want's pure blood, it will be worth a lot of money to have pure blood. And he seems to think that there is private medical information on a CDC card???

A while ago I warned my daughter that when my wife can finally comea home from Canada where as a US Citizen, she can't get vaccinated, for the 5-6 weeks that it takes my wife to get vaccinated, she, my daughter, may not be able to live here or at the minimum always wear a mask in the house because there is scant data on the chances of my vaccinated daughter carrying Covid and giving it to my wife who is immune compromised. My daughter is having sex with this boyfriend so if he gets it, she could get it.

This boyfriend is a really nice guy but he's a stubborn fucking moron when it comes to the vaccine. Pure blood. Who the fuck is he getting this crazy shit from?

As stated in the other thread, I can only hope this holds up, as there are confounding and uncontrolled elements in the research, namely all the people got treated with the same ivermectin in the same place for the same reason, likely by the same people. It could be any one of those common elements...

I know it will very likely turn out to be a negligible effect. But the linked study was done on people suffering river blindness, so the subjects almost certainly got the prescription version. Hopefully the horse de-wormer will turn out to be even more effective at neutering Texans.

You’re right: I am horrified at the hand waving incompetence and ignorance of those who think that more than 600,000 people in the US —and counting—have died of this disease and more than 4 million world wide have died—so far is no big deal because it has t happened to them. Yet. I’m terrified that someone I care about whose work puts them in contact with the general public will become ill and possibly die. I have family members who are sick right now. Our founders designed a system that treated citizens as more than just children. Our grand experiment is designed for a free people. Yes, that entails risk. Yes, I’ll take risk and freedom over a paternalistic government any day.

And it should be noted, a huge portion of the unvaccinated are younger minorities. So this impacts a broad range of people, not just “anti-vaxxer Trump supporters,” as Dems believe.
