Democrats 2020

Yes, another one bites the dust. Michael Bennet drops out of presidential race - POLITICO

Though the votes are still not completely counted, I notice some trends. Joe Biden isn't doing very well, and Tom Steyer, Tulsi Gabbard, and Deval Patrick are in the few percent of the vote.

Tulsi Gabbard has something that she's promoting, ending US military adventures, and Tom Steyer does also, environmentalism, but Deval Patrick does not seem to have much of a platform outside of moderation for the sake of moderation. But then again, Andrew Yang also has something that he's promoting, universal basic income, and he dropped out.

AOC’s Speech Snub, ICE Remarks Rankle Bernie Sanders Campaign | Vanity Fair
Specifically, the Sanders campaign was miffed that Ocasio-Cortez didn’t mention Sanders by name when she closed out a campaign event at the University of Iowa on a Friday night at the end of last month—a fact that Fox News picked up on.

...
Ocasio-Cortez’s comments about the abolition of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Patrol were also seen by some within the Sanders campaign as going too far, straying from Sanders’s stance on the issues in encouraging people not to cooperate with law enforcement agencies, according to this source.

So Sanders is not extreme enough for AOC because he is not going full open borders. The corporal turning on her colonel.

I'm always amazed at the level of effort people put in to make AOC seem un-photogenic. I don't remember this happening to women like Sarah Palin or Michelle Bachman as an attempt to undermine their credibility.

I wouldn't vote for Bernie Sanders, but he does have bouts of common sense. He can be downright Trumpian.

You don't remember that?

Always two there are, no more no less. A master and an apprentice.

Really? I recall plenty of such photos.

Unlike MB, Palin was quite a GILF, so that was more difficult to find.

Meanwhile down here in Texas...

...
The Vermont Senator and self-described Democratic socialist has jumped to second in the state, cutting former Vice President Joe Biden’s lead to just two percentage points, according to a new Texas Lyceum poll released on Wednesday. Biden still leads the pack of Democratic presidential contenders at 28 percent, though his lead over Sanders — who stood at 26 percent — was within the poll’s 2.8 percentage point margin of error.
...
Though Trump polled better than all of the Democrats in the race, it found Sanders bringing in 47 percent to Trump’s 50. Biden was next, at 46 to 51. Warren had 44 to Trump’s 52.
...
Sanders appears to be a big draw for Texas independents, 44 percent of whom would vote for him, compared to Trump’s 41 percent in a head-to-head matchup.
...

It would be so cool if Sanders won the primary and flipped Texas. It just might .... might be possible. If that came to pass, I would be laughing so hard they'd have to sedate me. March 3, Super Tuesday is just 21 days away. Sanders is slated to clean up big in California.

I stand very much corrected.

It wasn't just the weird photos that mattered. it was the weird things coming out of the mouths of these women that mattered. Palin and Bachman were kooks.

To that load of balderdash i present this.........................https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/20...ar-ahead-in-polls-that-doesnt-even-think-abo/

Hillary Clinton is so far ahead of Donald Trump in the race for the presidency that she no longer even feels the need to pay attention to the Republican nominee.

Buoyed by a double digit lead in some national polls, Mrs Clinton has said she is now looking past Mr Trump entirely, and will no longer counter allegations made by her rival.

"I don’t even think about responding to him anymore,” Mrs Clinton said when asked about Mr Trump’s charge that American media outlets are in cahoots with her presidential campaign.

I'm not going to predict anything because we really don't know all of the lies and misinformation that the Republicans will use to try and destroy whoever becomes the Democratic nominee. So, we all should do what Sanders suggested last night and. unite behind whoever the fuck becomes the nominee. Sanders isn't my favorite and I. have concerns about him being able to beat Trump, but I give him credit for saying what he did. Liz Warren said the same thing a couple of days ago. After she criticized Bloomberg, she said she would certainly support him if he became the nominee because he would be vastly better than Trump. Any one of the candidates would be a huge improvement over Trump and this is why so many of us are still saying, "vote blue no matter who". :p

Clinton received 2.87 million more votes than Trump did.

Were?

Basically, both of these silly women are no longer in the spotlight. President Orango the clown has taken over the weird babbling on a daily basis and has eclipsed them most decisively. Of course we still have Laura Ingraham keeping the weird woman kookery alive. And KellyAnne Conway.

Here's an interesting observation. I've been following the Yang Gang (and supported Yang) for his whole run, and now that he's dropping out I'm seeing fascinating schism forming between his supporters. Half of them are now talking about Bernie, and another large contingent of them are shifting to (back to) Trump. He pulled these folks away from Trump and now they are going back to him.

Out of curiosity, where are you seeing this?

Everywhere that is/was pro-Yang. Problem solver politics, Paget kagy, Zach and Matt show and other comment sections and live streams. The people are mostly Dem but there is a large contingent of cross overs, who had been for Trump or independent or not engaged in politics prior to Yang. He had a whole bunch of formerly pro-Trump truckers on Yang's side who are definitely not otherwise liberals. Good chance they now vote Trump again.
