Democrats 2020

Are you suggesting, preposterously, that San Francisco is warm and sunny in the early Spring? :D
Compared to NYC, yes.
LOL okay. Been pretty cold, damp and moist here actually, but I suppose you're claiming that virus needs to be literally frozen in order to spread?

What I've heard is that viruses aren't sensitive to ambient temp so much as they are to humidity. They survive longer in dry conditions. Summer air tends to be more humid in many locations. The northeastern US has had relatively warm and wet winters for the past few years, and that's likely to continue with global warming.

I just checked the weather in both SF and NYC. 58F in SF, 56 in NYC even though it's three hours later in the evening in NYC.

I was not talking about today's weather, but about averages. For March, average high for NYC is 50°F high and 35°F low. For SF, it's 62°F high and 49°F low. Quite a difference.

It's both, as well as sunshine (UV). Viruses do not have metabolism, so virus particles have no ability to repair accumulated damage. Temperature speeds up reactions that lead to degradation, as do high energy UV photons.

listening to medical experts who say it will not make one iota of difference if one gets infected by COVID-19 whatever the weather conditions, as the human body temperature is around 35-37 C whether it's -0 or +40C outside. Once infected, only the immune system can fight off this virus.

I know the Dems would love nothing better than to make Trump the scapegoat for this Wuhan virus. But party politics should be put aside when a nation is fighting a war and trying to save lives.

Don’t you mean, “when states individually are fighting a war and trying to save lives”? Because that’s what is really going on here. In fact, when it comes to procurement, the federal government has at times been the enemy.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Has Never Spoken to Joe Biden. Here’s What She Would Say. - The New York Times
In an interview, Ms. Ocasio-Cortez said she intended to support the presumptive Democratic nominee, but the “process of coming together should be uncomfortable for everyone involved.”
AOC is willing to support JB in the main election, but how strong it is depends on what policies he supports.
There’s also this idea that if we all just support the nominee that voters will come along as well. I’ve flagged, very early, two patterns that I saw [among Biden’s campaign], which is underperformance among Latinos and young people, both of which are very important demographics in November. And so, I don’t think this conversation about changes that need to be made is one about throwing the progressive wing of the party a couple of bones — I think this is about how we can win.
As to being uncomfortable, it means that all sides should have to compromise.
They floated this olive branch to the progressive left of lowering the Medicare age to 60. And it’s almost insulting. I think Hillary was looking at policies that lowered it to 50. So we’re talking about a “progressive concession” that is 10 years worse than what the nominee had in 2016.

...
If we’re not talking about paths to citizenship for undocumented people, and if we’re just talking about policy changes of 5 or 10 percent — especially when you look at something like climate change — it’s not about moving to the left. It’s about who is able to find hope in your administration. And creating plans that give people hope and possibility.
She doesn't think that JB won on policy.
I want to respect his win, he won because of his coalition building, he won because of his service, he won for a lot of different reasons — but I don’t think he won because Americans don’t want “Medicare for all.”
I think that she's right about that. JB seems tried-and-true -- he was Barack Obama's VP for all eight years of BO's Presidency. Bernie Sanders, however, has been pretty much on the fringe for most of his political career. He himself once conceded that his career has been a "lonely" one.

About endorsing JB:
I’ve always said that I will support the Democratic nominee. But unity is a process, and figuring out what that looks like is part of this whole conversation that I think Bernie and Warren and other folks are a part of as well.

...
Beating Donald Trump is a matter of life or death for our communities. I think it’s a difference between making an argument for harm reduction, and making the argument for, there’s actually going to be progress made for us.

What I want to do is to be able to go out and say, “This is the plan for us.” But it’s hard to do that if there’s no plan for us.

...
I will be supporting the Democratic nominee in November. I would just hope that the nominee supports our communities too.
Then about a JB-AOC unity rally. AOC has never talked to JB. She then said that it's a "tightrope" - she wants to stay true to herself and her supporters, but she doesn't want another term of tRump.

So apparently the Democratic Socialists of America are not endorsing Biden. Which is just as well; unlikely Creepy Joe would have felt up the fugly, deodorant adverse, hairy-pitted justice warriors. Come on, man.

I agree with you. Better to not have their enforcement. Joe won't need it to be beat Don the Molester.

I mean, how fucking oblivious do you have to be to say Biden is the creepy one in this election?

Conservatives love to bully people by caricaturing them. Under Trump, they've really become the party of bullies. Well, I'm a 52 year old male and I'm not going to be bullied. None of us should take it. If someone wants to discuss issues, I'm all respectful ears. But I'm going to call out the bullying every single time that I see it. And not to belabor the point, but who would want their daughter in a private room with Trump??!! Talk about creepy...

Obama endorses Biden for president in video message - CNNPolitics
"If there's one thing we've learned as a country from moments of great crisis, it's that the spirit of looking out for one another can't be restricted to our homes, or our workplaces, or our neighborhoods, or our houses of worship," Obama says in the over 11-minute endorsement video. "It also has to be reflected in our national government."

He continues: "The kind of leadership that's guided by knowledge and experience, honesty and humility, empathy and grace -- that kind of leadership doesn't just belong in our state capitols and mayors offices. It belongs in the White House."

"And that's why I'm so proud to endorse Joe Biden for President of the United States," he adds.

He also pointed to success in managing the Ebola and H1N1 viruses. He then praised Bernie Sanders for getting as far as did.
"Bernie's an American original -- a man who has devoted his life to giving voice to working people's hopes, dreams, and frustrations. He and I haven't always agreed on everything, but we've always shared a conviction that we have to make America a fairer, more just, more equitable society," Obama says.
He avoided naming names:
"One thing everybody has learned by now is that the Republicans occupying the White House and running the US Senate are not interested in progress," Obama says. "They're interested in power."

Obama casts Trump as a leader who is more interested in helping the wealthy in the midst of a pandemic than average Americans. He argues that the President and Senate Republicans have repeatedly "disregarded American principles of rule of law, and voting rights, and transparency," and have been helped by "a propaganda network with little regard for the truth," seemingly a knock against Fox News.

He stated that healthcare professionals, teachers, delivery drivers, grocery-store clerks do essential work, but they've been left behind and underpaid by our economy. He also proposed relief from "crushing" student-loan debt. He proposed trying to make healthcare plans more affordable, and he proposed a "public option".

Sanders campaign reps revolt after Sanders endorses Biden, openly attack former vice president | Fox News
Briahna Joy Gray, who served as Sanders' national press secretary, and prominent Sanders surrogate Shaun King immediately took aim at Biden -- and they made it clear just how much the former vice president's platform differed from Sanders' longstanding policy goals.
Briahna Joy Gray on Twitter: "With the utmost respect for Bernie Sanders, who is an incredible human being & a genuine inspiration, I don't endorse Joe Biden.
I supported Bernie Sanders because he backed ideas like #MedicareForAll, cancelling ALL student debt, & a wealth tax. Biden supports none of those." / Twitter
