Epstein arrested

Ghislaine Maxwell Is Denied Bail by Judge Who Calls Her a Flight Risk - The New York Times
The judge, Alison J. Nathan of Federal District Court in Manhattan, said Ms. Maxwell had demonstrated a sophisticated ability to hide herself and obscure her financial resources.

Prosecutors argued at the hearing that Ms. Maxwell had provided “implausible” statements about her finances, including that she had no income.

“Ms. Maxwell poses a substantial actual risk of flight,” Judge Nathan said.

...
At Tuesday’s hearing, Ms. Maxwell pleaded not guilty to the charges, which include transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, conspiracy and perjury.

She has been in federal custody since her arrest on July 2.

Ms. Maxwell’s lawyer, Mark S. Cohen, sought to distance his client from Mr. Epstein, telling the judge, “She’s not the monster that’s been portrayed by the media and the government.”

...
Ms. Moe said Ms. Maxwell also told court officials that she had no income. She questioned that assertion, saying it was unlikely that Ms. Maxwell could live her lifestyle without any money coming in from a possible inheritance or trust accounts.

“It just doesn’t make sense,” Ms. Moe said.

In 2019, when she opened a Swiss bank account, Ms. Maxwell indicated that her annual income was at least $200,000, with a net worth more than $10 million, Ms. Moe said.

...
Mr. Epstein dated Ms. Maxwell and paid her to manage his properties, according to prosecutors. In 2003, he described her in a Vanity Fair article as his best friend.

At the time of his death, Ms. Maxwell and Mr. Epstein had not had any contact for more than a decade, according to her lawyers.
The bail hearing was entirely virtual, done online.

I marvel at how she, as a woman, was willing to assist Mr. Epstein in his lechery.

Could it simply be that this specific woman is evil? Either sex is able to be good, evil, or somewhere in between.

The bodies are starting to pile up. There was a case about to be set before a federal judge concerning the Epstein scandal: Deustche Bank having been accused of misleading its investors and failing to monitor cases like Epstein's. The Judge set to preside over the case, Esther Salas, was in her basement this evening when an assassin entered her home disguised as a Fedex worker, and shot her husband and son. The son has died, the husband is in critical condition. Echoes of the Pelican Brief?

But it may well be a coincidence. She is the only Latina district judge in New Jersey, and already notorious for some previous cases involving the wealthy and powerful of that state. So really, there may be any number of conspiracies tied to the incident.

Wow.

Jeeze. I just read this. Utterly horrifying.

Could very well be from a previous case and those people thought it was a good time for this assassination because of the assumption it would be Epstein related.

Huh, the U.S. prosecutor killed in Seattle in 2001
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_C._Wales
was the only one in US history. This was talked about when Sawant lead or was a just a part of the protest that went to Mayor Durkin's publicly unknown house.

Not sure about local or state level prosecutors and judges.

We are ALL "somewhere in between".
Except Trump.
Trump is evil.

The suspected shooter has killed himself. Hard to get a more conspiratorial setup, but Epstein's only marginally related to the Deutsche Bank case.

Actually, I suspect her husband was the target. Defending bad guys sometimes brings retaliation if you're not successful.

There was a men's rights lawyer who was shot and killed about a week ago, it could have been related to that in this guy's head.

An attorney who rose to prominence in the men's rights movement was shot and killed at his mountain home on Saturday, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

Detectives are investigating the death of 52-year-old Marc Angelucci as a homicide.

County deputies responded to reports of a shooing around 4 p.m. Saturday on Glenwood Drive in Cedarpines Park, an unincorporated mountain community northwest of Crestline.

They found Angelucci "responsive and suffering from apparent gunshot wounds," according to a press release. He died at the scene.

Angelucci was the vice president and board member of the National Coalition for Men. He was the longtime president of the group's Los Angeles chapter, which he founded.

"Marc was an unbelievably generous man, living on a shoestring despite some personal health challenges so he could donate many millions of dollars of his time to mostly voluntary legal work on behalf of men’s rights and the genuine gender equality that is so badly needed in this country and this world," said a statement from NCFM.

I am sure the police will be looking at the travel records of this home invasion killer to see if this is related. Lunatics also kill people on their side if they feel disrespected. Maybe Marc was an actual men's right activist and not a misogynist freak like this guy and he told him to fuck off in some correspondence.

Oh woah, they need to get Hollander's full financial and travel records now

On the Saturday before last, July 11, just before 4 pm, my dear and wonderful friend Marc Angelucci was at his home in Glenwood Drive, Cedar Pines Park, California with friends.

There was a knock at the door.

One of his friends’ answered, but the delivery man said he had a package that Angelucci needed to sign for.

Marc went to the door.

Shots were fired.

A car sped away.

His friends called for help.

Paramedics arrived.

Angelucci was pronounced dead at the scene.

On a Saturday afternoon, at his own front door, formidable lawyer Marc Angelucci, 52, was murdered.

NY Post dug up an old skit by Colbert where he covers that guy. I recommend the article and Colbert Report video at link.

This guy is way beyond men's rights activism - such as accounting for pay in severe damage from the physical jobs that men tend to do (and not having women or other men sitting at a desk get paid the same because of "fairness" or equity considerations in HR. If a woman or any man for that matter wants the pay of being a crane operator or high rise window washer versus the risk of dying from an accident, they can train and apply for it.

He is really fucked in the head and is a good guy to trot out to discredit all MRAs.

Do you have an example of an MRA who isn't a good case to trot out to discredit all MRA's?

I mean, maybe there are NAZI's who are just a little bit NAZI and have reasonable points that are worth discussing too i suppose.

What New Documents Reveal About Jeffrey Epstein's Final Days - The New York Times
"Newly released records show the disgraced financier living a mundane existence in jail before his suicide, while also spinning deceptions until the very end."
The disgraced financier, jailed in Manhattan on federal sex trafficking charges involving teenage girls, was found unconscious on the floor of his cell one morning in July 2019, a strip of bedsheet tied around his bruised neck.

In the hours and days that followed that suicide attempt, Jeffrey Epstein would claim to be living a “wonderful life,” denying any thoughts of ending it, even as he sat on suicide watch and faced daunting legal troubles.

“I have no interest in killing myself,” Mr. Epstein told a jailhouse psychologist, according to Bureau of Prisons documents that have not previously been made public. He was a “coward” and did not like pain, he explained. “I would not do that to myself.”

But two weeks later, he did just that: He died in his cell on Aug. 10 in the Metropolitan Correctional Center, having hanged himself with a bedsheet, the medical examiner ruled.

After a life of manipulation, Mr. Epstein created illusions until the very end, deceiving correctional officers, counselors and specially trained inmates assigned to monitor him around the clock, according to the documents — among more than 2,000 pages of Federal Bureau of Prisons records obtained by The New York Times after filing a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit.
Being jailed was a big comedown for him, and at one point, he wanted to know who was the best cook in the building.
The newly obtained records offer no support to the explosion of conspiracy theories that Mr. Epstein’s death was not a suicide. They also shed no light on questions raised by his brother and one of his lawyers that he might have been assisted in killing himself. But they do paint a picture of incompetence and sloppiness by some within the Bureau of Prisons, which runs the federal detention center.
Like originally listing him as black and without any prior sex-offense conventions -- both of them false.
The night he killed himself, Mr. Epstein lied to jail officials and said he wanted to phone his mother — who was long dead. He instead called his girlfriend. Jail personnel left him alone in his cell that night, despite an explicit directive that he be assigned a cellmate.
My favorite conspiracy theory is that his jailers let him die so that they would not suffer the publicity that he had had. But they seem far from competent, and they revived him when he tried to commit suicide earlier.

What was Jeffrey Epstein like?
A 15-page psychological reconstruction of Mr. Epstein’s death, compiled by bureau officials five weeks later and never before made public, concluded that his identity “appeared to be based on his wealth, power and association with other high-profile individuals.”

“The lack of significant interpersonal connections, a complete loss of his status in both the community and among associates, and the idea of potentially spending his life in prison,” the post-mortem continued, “were likely factors contributing to Mr. Epstein’s suicide.”

There goes Ghislaine as a baby name for a few more decades! Don't be afraid to let the door hit you on the way out.
