I'm American. That means there are only 2 meat pies I know about: American chicken pot pie, and Jamaican meat pies.

Three if you count empanadas.

What about the good old Aussie beef pie! Or steak and kidney! Beef and pea?

Not familiar with them, I'm afraid.

Sadly, the other Americans have a big sweet tooth, so there's not a lot of savory pies here.

I'm also a huge fan of spanakopita (Greek spinach pie), but I was trying to list the meat pies that Americans in general would be familiar with. Spanakopita is not meat, and only the parts of America with lots of Greeks would be familiar with spanakopita.

My personal favourite is this one:

A cottage or shepherds pie.

The Brits have sooooo many meat pies, it's insane.

Oh, I just realized. I think I omitted the cumin from the updated kitchen sink chili recipe. Oops.

Now that I think of it, American chili con carne would be pretty wild in one of those meat pies.

Australians love their meat pies too...

A famous 7 course dinner in Australia is a 6 pack of beer and a pie...

Not unless they moved Toombul Road to the USA without telling me :)

That's an easy place to get to from here - it's just off the old Gateway Motorway (now Southern Cross Way).

Not quite a proper meat pie, but the closest thing Chicago has. Fast forward to 0:55 to hear Duff Goldman rave about the "disk of sausage!"

I don't eat deep dish very often, but the place he is talking about is my favorite place to get deep dish. They use a dough press to make the "hubcap of meat."
