You have yet to produce on jot of evidence that FGM is practiced by the Somali diaspora in Mn or the US.
Evidence was offered, but in typical Houndian fashion, you continue to ignore and dismiss it. How about this:
Female Genital Mutilation Continues in the U.S. It Must Be Stopped
Scientific American said:
Data on FGM/C in the U.S. are lacking, but an anecdotal observation from the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis estimated that type III FGM/C is seen in 99 percent of Somali women. The American Medical Association has classified it as child abuse. And Minnesota law on FGM/C renders the practice a felony but fails to hold parents accountable for aiding and abetting the crime and for the endangerment of a child, although such charges can be brought under other state laws.
Or that the Somali community is “unassimilated “.
A lot of them clearly are. But what evidence would even convince you?
Without actual evidence to support your opinions, there is no reason for any reader to view them as accurate portrayals.
If you keep ignoring all the evidence that is offered, there is no reason to take your objections seriously.

Yes, most Somali born females were subjected to this barbaric practice. It is illegal in the US.
It may be illegal, but that does not mean that it does not happen.
Sometimes, girls are flown to Somalia for it to be done.
A Fight as U.S. Girls Face Genital Cutting Abroad

Or at least to Michigan.
First-ever federal charges of female genital mutilation seen as landmark
PBS said:
All six are charged with female genital mutilation, conspiracy and aiding and abetting the genital cuttings of two girls whose parents brought them to the Michigan clinic from Minnesota, a state considering harsher FGM laws. The doctors, who could face life in prison, are also charged with conspiring to transport a minor for sexual activity. Their trial is set for Oct. 10.
Unfortunately, a federal judge later dismissed the charges.

If you read your own link, it only identifies an actual FGM from 2006 (20 years ago).

Somali women may have already had FGM before coming to Minnesota.
Or that the Somali community is “unassimilated “.

A working definition of "unassimilated" and "alot" would be a start. Then data.

Your assertions and innuendos are only evidence of your beliefs, not reality.

The article identifies it as the first FGM conviction in the US. But then again, you are not exactly known for reading comprehension.
Somali women may have already had FGM before coming to Minnesota.
Some of them sure, but certainly not all.
A working definition of "unassimilated" and "alot" would be a start. Then data.
"Alot" is not a word. And you are expecting a lot of work for a discussion forum. Especially since you would not accept any evidence anyway, since always pick nits in any evidence offered. You also never provide any evidence yourself, but expect the others side to always have evidence that fits your criteria at the ready.
Your assertions and innuendos are only evidence of your beliefs, not reality.
You would not recognize reality if it bit you in the ass.

FMG has no basis in any religion. Full stop.
Tell that to Muslims who practice it.
The vast overwhelming majority of Somali Americans oppose fmg.
[citation needed]
And note that earlier you claimed that FGM (not "fmg") does not occur in the US at all.
As noted in an earlier post, other groups which immigrated to the US brought with them cultural practices that do not fit in with American culture. These practices fade within a generation or two.
That is not a law of nature. It depends how dissimilar the host and migrant culture are, and also on the volume of migration.
The more dissimilar, and more migrants come, the more likely it is that they establish parallel societies rather than fully integrating.

Child marriage was commonly practiced among various ethnic immigrant groups when these diaspora appeared in the US ( and presumably other countries). These practices have faded as the groups assimilate into their new countries, with legal pressure from the new country.

A notable exception in the US is among fundamentalist Mormons and some other fundamentalist ‘Christian’ groups, frequently to legitimize any infant resulting from adult men impregnating minors, some as young as 11.

WTG?

It is customary and polite for individuals to conform to religious dress when participating or attending religious ceremonies. This can include wearing a yarmulke or for women, other head coverings in some places of worship.

Women who wish to enter the Sistine Chapel are expected to cover their heads and arms and to wear modest dresses/skirts.

You made unsupported claims about Somalis being “unassimilated. When asked to define what you mean, the predictable response consisting of insults, excuses, and evasion. It’s no longer annoying but now it’s just boring.

Speaking of fraud, that is not what that photo is.

For the interested, unbiased reader, President Donald Trump made some statements such as of __all__ Somalis in the United States: "They contribute nothing. I don’t want them in our country. Their country is no good for a reason. Your country stinks and we don’t want them in our country."

The Lt governor then in response went to the Somali community, to a mosque and a market to speak out in solidarity with the vast majority of well-behaved people.

She then became a target of right-wing and religious bigotry focusing on her approach, rather than how extremist the President is.

She's not "submitting" to Islam, nor to fraudsters, she's a Catholic and being humane.

First gen large scale immigrants rarely assimilate. Especially when the modern practice is to promote multiculturalism, which slows or halts assimilation.

It's not a hard rule, of course, but generally speaking, the initial adult immigrants don't assimilate very well. The children born of adult immigrants in the country of immigration overcorrect - they tend to reject their cultural heritage and adopt the new culture, sometimes in an almost caricatured fashion. The third generation (second gen born in country) tend to be well-assimilated, meaning that they actually acculturate to the new country but also retain some appreciation and respect for their heritage. That's where the melting occurs.

There's a significant amount of variation, of course. People immigrating from similar cultures assimilate very quickly; people from very different cultural backgrounds assimilate more slowly. Voluntary immigrants assimilate faster than refugees and asylum seekers. Immigrants who are geographically concentrated assimilate more slowly.

In the case of Somalis in Minnesota, you've got a large number of recent refugees who are geographically concentrated, and who come from a very different culture with significant differences in beliefs and values. In another 30 years they'll probably be assimilated, assuming we avoid balkanization.

BTW, the lack of assimilation has been a challenge for jews throughout history. Generally good citizens, but the nature of their religion is fairly insular and brings it's own culture and practices with it. It's both a boon and a bane for jews. It's a boon in that they have a cohesive heritage and value set that generally binds them together; most (not all) jews view jews as all being jews first and foremost, and they tend toward a group solidarity that has many benefits. It's a bane because it sets them apart from the countries in which they reside, and often prevents true assimilation into the culture and values of their residence country. It's made them easy targets throughout a lot of history, because they have often remained "the other" over the course of many generations.

I'm not an expert by any means, but I think the US has probably "melted in" a lot more jewish culture than many other countries have.

IMO, without a definition that translates into observable assessment, your analysis isn’t very helpful to me.
