Fraud in Minnesomalia

The brother of two defendants in the Minnesota Somali Fraud Scandal convicted of trying to bribe a juror with $120k (which was apparently just a down payment).

Man who tried to bribe juror in Feeding Our Future trial sentenced to nearly 5 years

A man who tried to bribe a juror in the first Feeding Our Future trial is headed to federal prison. Judge Eric Tostrud on Wednesday sentenced Abdulkarim Farah to nearly five years behind bars for his role in the plot.
The ostensibly sophisticated but ultimately ham-handed plot unraveled during closing arguments in the trial of seven people connected to a small restaurant in Shakopee. Federal prosecutors had accused them of stealing $47 million from taxpayer-funded child nutrition programs during the pandemic.

The young woman – known as Juror 52 – called 911 after someone came to her house on a Sunday evening, dropped off a Hallmark gift bag containing $120,000 in cash, and promised more if she’d vote to acquit.
Police contacted the FBI, and agents picked up the cash. Brasel excused Juror 52 from the trial before closing arguments resumed.
Abdulkarim Farah, 25, is the younger brother of two of the trial defendants, Abdiaziz Farah and Said Farah. They and a third defendant recruited Abdulkarim to find out where the juror lived.

Yeah, Derec's link had nothing to do with Minnesota and is related to an incident more than 10 years ago by an individual.
It was not in Minnesota, but it involved a Somali terrorist.
Individual was caught, tried, convicted and sentenced. As should be. He happily ignores all of the US born white males who commit mass murders against school children, concert goers, church goers, etc.
I am not ignoring it. How could I, given how much you and your Ilk love to post about how bad white people are? Even to the point of ignoring relative population sizes to make your flawed point.

Indefinitely, because that is an entirely imaginary threat, concocted and promulgated by cut-rate local neonazis rather than by anything that actually happens.
It is not an imaginary threat. Just look at what is happening in western Europe.
And it is also dangerous to accuse everybody who opposes islamization of being a "neo-Nazi". If openly discussing the dangers of islamization and mass migration is not possible in mainstream politics, that just helps extremists gain popularity. Again, look at western Europe. A big reason why far-right parties like NR, AfD or FPÖ have gained so much popularity in the last decade and a half is a combination of the negative effects of mass migration and islamization combined with mainstream parties refusing to even address the issue.
And in fact, the ostensibly conservative former chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel, was instrumental in opening the floodgates of mass Muslim migration in the first place.
If sharia law were ever instituted in fucking Minnesota of all places, a few daycare facilities (allegedly) cooking their books would not be the sole piece of evidence you can provide for your favorite racist conspiracy theories.
Nobody is claiming that there is already Sharia Law. Minnesota is in the stage where certain people will look past wrongdoing by certain groups because they do not want to appear "racist" and "islamophobic". Kind of like how the powers that be ignored the Pakistani child rape scandal in Rotherham, UK.

Trevor Milton, Lawrence Duran, Jason Galanis, Devon Archer, Adriana Camberos, Julie and Todd Chrisley, Marian Morgan, and on and on.

You people don't give a fuck about fraud. You seem to really love and honor fraud based on who you support and pardon.

And do you really believe that Islamism is just around the corner? The constant straw man lie that left are pro-islamist so very tired. Right wing parties have gained power because they exploit prejudice and fear with propaganda. They relentlessly exaggerate risks and harms. They push "replacement theory" and people believe it and willingly blame the immigrants for their troubles rather than see the real problem that are the mega rich running the world in a way that would make the Robber Barons of the Gilded Age very jealous.

Here in Florida we've got MAGA calling DEP at least 80 times a day to report chemtrails. They believe Kennedy is cleaning up toxins from food. Meanwhile they don't notice what's been done to FDA, USDA, EPA and that it is free for all for the mega corporations to dump their shit all over the public.

Seems to me you ignore the relative population size of “ilks” to make your inane points. After all, relative population size does not explain that you almost exclusively carp about minority or immigrant criminal.

So if I point out that white makes commit crimes, I’m of an ilk who like to point out how bad white oeioke ( such as myself) are?

Pray, then tell us what your motivation is to dredge up crimes by a Somali man more than 10 years ago, for which he was arrested, tried, convicted and sentenced?

Google AI says:

It appears "oeioke" is a misspelling of "a people".
In English, while "people" is usually the plural of "person," it can also be used as a singular collective noun to refer to a specific group, such as a nation, ethnic group, or tribe.

Still doesn't make sense though.

:cautious: Obvious from context that Toni mean "people" and simply mistyped (or phone got taken over by asinine autocorrect, which happens a whole lot).

What's the point in calling out typos when you can glean what was intended?

You're right. I was trying to be lighthearted (hence the rimshot emojie), and I had swallowed way too much beer. My apologies! 🙊

Two hands on keyboard, the left fingers are placed properly, the right are one key to the left.

Left hand (no shift):
e = e

Right hand (shift left one key):
i = o, o = p, k = l

==> oeioke = /o->p/ /e->e/ /i->o/ /o->p/ /k->l/ /e->e/ = people....which you could tell from context anyway as you note.

I would guess temporarily distracted by something in such a manner that caused the hand to shift since prior to the word and after, things are correctly spelled. Examples: had to move mouse with right hand for some reason, took a swig of Captain Morgan's, got a phone call from a scam bot, or had a different word there and went to replace it.

Now if we can just do a similar analysis for covfefe in Russian, we can figure out how to best protect the country from its President.

It wasn't obvious to me. I thought maybe she was trying to say okie, and that maybe there was alternative spelling of that word I wasn't aware of. All the letters for that are there, just in the wrong order.

I don't know, some jurors will do anything to avoid jury duty. Officer, I swear I have no idea where that Porsche came from. It just had a note that said "Acquit". :D

$47 million. You know, I think one of the things we've learned about this scandal is that white people hate it when minorities commit fraud. Publicly traded S&P 500 company takes $300 million in forgivable loans meant for Small Businesses during the pandemic, and people aren't that upset. A bunch of people from Africa commit $47 million in pandemic related fraud and they'll wave it around like crazy.

Some white CEO and his company is fined $1.7 billion and quite a few convictions for Medicare/Medicaid fraud... and that CEO is a US Senator. If Rep. Talib was found to have taken three cents from the give a penny take a penny and only used two for exact change, Fox News would have 24/7 coverage.

Yes, the people committed the fraud, should be punished for it. However, there seems to be something extra about this that makes some people more disturbed by the fraud than others.

Or simply more eager to discuss it.

I don't know that Derec cares all that much about fraud but he's keen on posting racist flamebait like the term "Minnesomalia" to remind everyone that some of the immigrants in Minnesota are black people from Africa.

He kinda scuffs over the fact that the total number of immigrants in Minnesota amount to only 9% of the population and that immigrants from Mexico outnumber the Somali born by a 2:1 margin.

Are the immigrants from Mexico accused of committing fraud on the scale of the Somilais?
The % of the population is quite irrelevant. The scale of the alleged fraud and by whom is surely what is important?

The fact it appears fraud was committed is what's important. The scale of the apparent fraud makes it noteworthy. The alleged fraudsters being members of the immigrant community is interesting in that most immigrants don't know how to work the system like Americans born in this country, and that it harkens back to organized crime in the immigrant communities of the 20th century.

The fact it was Somali immigrants this time and not Italian, Irish, Russian, or Latin Americans immigrants isn't all that interesting.

Oh I don’t know about that. I think it is interesting why there seems some state officials were providing cover for the fraud, indeed one in particular seems to have benefited from it and the reluctance to investigate reports of fraud.

Go ahead and say their names and post links to those reports.
