You'd think somewhere along the line of sixteen years of education teaching people how to make a lot of money, there would have been at least one class on budgeting. To put it another way that may set off an alarm bell: a class on how to live within your means/responsible use of credit. Call me a conspiracy theorist but do you think any industry group(s) might take exception to teaching youngster how to handle their money responsibly? They may pay lip service to the notion but it will likely be after the fact. After a person has gotten themselves in debt up to their eyeballs.
Try to put something meaningful in place before the fact that ensures people understand the detriment of living a life of consumer credit and minimum payments and credit issuers will raise holy hell.
And yes our infrastructure is set up for the privately owned vehicle. But more than this is attitudes of motorists toward cyclists. One bright spot is the infrastructure plan. Who is in charge of it and if we can keep a democrat in the oval office while that money is available so a few years from now we are not spending it on ever widening highways.
Buttigieg Looking Out for Bicyclists and Black People. What a nice guy. I hope he's president some day.
