Reading about Daryl Hanna's upcoming documentary on Neil Young, I went to Neil's website to get more information. As if his music wasn't enough, looking through the news he posts up just endears him more towards me.

Neil Young used to (or still does?, not sure) live in the hills close to me. A former coworker (and friend) was his neighbor, and would occassionally chat and hang out with him and his wife Peggy. A down to earth couple, apparently, and not all stuck up and full of himself like a lot of celebrities.

A friend of my cousin's was a California Hiway Patrol officer and she pulled him over for speeding on a local freeway (280). He was driving some expensive car (Ferrari, maybe?). Being on the younger side, she didn't know who he was but knew he had money and thought he might be famous. She asks my cousin, "Hey I pulled this guy over today and his driver's license said his name was Neil Young. Ever heard of him?"
