But Brabak was part of the coup and a founding member of the PDPA... meaning he wasn't installed after the invasion - that was actually a reinstallation. Meaning the sequence of events was both governments vying for favor with the monarchy, Soviet backing of the coup, US non-military aid to the mujahideen, Soviet invasion, then US military aid.

Yes he did. In his interview he confirmed what CIA director wrote in his book. It's been common knowledge for 20 years. Yet here comes you and repeat BS Ronald Raygun was pushing while he was president. US government lied about Cuban missile crisis, Vietnam war, Afghan war, Iran-Contras and Iraq war, deal with it. and when you have, tell me how likely is it that US government is not lying about their involvement in Ukraine?

Two issues.

1) Expanding into Ukraine was wrong because that's not what Ukraine wanted. Should I simply be allowed to annex part of your house?

2) I was talking about previous Russian expansion into the -stans. If you shouldn't expand into an area someone else considers their area then Russia shouldn't have gone into any of them. Since Russia did they have no basis for complaining about someone going into an area they consider theirs.

For practical purposes Russia invaded and annexed part of Ukraine. It's already been explained the vote was a sham because Russia imported a lot of voters and because the status quo wasn't on the ballot.
