How should west respond to potential (likely) Russian invasion of Ukraine?

Russia’s Defense Ministry announced Saturday that it was “regrouping” its forces in the eastern Kharkiv region of Ukraine following Kyiv’s claims its troops had made sweeping gains in the territory held for months by Russia’s army.

“To achieve the goals of the special military operation to liberate Donbas, a decision was made to regroup Russian troops stationed in the Balakliya and Izyum regions, to bolster efforts along the Donetsk front,” the defense ministry said in a statement.

Next Thursday and Friday, SCO in Uzbekistan. Putin to meet with Xi Jinping. I expect Putin will be staring at his shoes the whole time.
Wish I could be a fly on a wall for that Xi meeting. I've always said that Putler won't seriously start negotiating with Ukraine until China starts pressuring Russia to find a peaceful solution.
Don't forget about all the Oligarchs who have been taking it up the ass for Putin, at least the ones who haven't fallen out of windows yet or been found drowned or poisoned with their children or been blown up with a car bomb.

Noone will invade a country with nukes
US/NATO does not need to invade Russia. They can harass Russia without invading it. By overthrowing governments which are allies of Russia or simply friendly or even russian government itself, illegal economic sanctions and laws are also on the list of tools.
So watch out India! Victoria Nuland has cookies and coming for you.

Russian mercinaries and massacres in Kosovo.
Do you understand the meaning of such words as "time", "date", "refuted", "unproven", "fabricated"?
Why don't you post Colin Powell and his famous UN speech?

Bunch of raging imbeciles.
There was nothing there to collapse. Yes, it was a mistake on Russia's part to leave so much front essentially defenseless but peeing yourself over this "success" is not warranted. Russian forces orderly withdrew rather than being cut off.
Yes, it was a mistake and a lot ukrainians will be murdered by ukrainian gestapo. But Russian forces did not suffer noticeable losses.

Sounds like a pitiful appeal … but don’t worry barbos. By the time you realize what’s happening, things will already be getting better. 😊

They're not retreating! They're advancing in the opposite direction...

Everything is going according to Putler's plan!

I just watched western (not russian) commentary and apparently, the whole area which was abandoned has been a tactical disappointment ever since it was occupied. Russian forces just could not move further and were under constant threat of being cut off and encircled there. They now withdrew to more defendable position on other side of the river. So great political success for Elensky but militarily it has zero significance.
~2000 dead ukrainian soldiers in Kherson are still dead. Not to mention 200 tanks which are still "dead" as well.

But the fundamental truth is that Russia invaded Ukraine. No spin there.
I don't disagree. But Russia did not start this war. It was started 8 years ago by Ukraine, against their own (at the time) people, they caused death of 14k people, "civilized" world did absolutely nothing to stop it.
And Russia is going to end this war, and if invasion is the solution so be it.

Barbos: I remember the above post. Well, it's been more than 6 months. Please tell me when Russia is going to end the war?

When it wins and liberate Ukraine from NATO occupation. And yes, Russia invaded "Ukraine", but NATO invaded and occupied it prior to that.

I remember USSR invaded Nazi Germany, you have a problem with that too?

When it wins.
What is your definition of a win? What do you think the Russian people would accept? At one time, Russians were deeply in Northern Ukraine, only miles from the Kyiv. Your side controlled most of the south. And you controlled Snake Island. Now Russia is retreating. Losing ground. Lost northern Ukraine months ago.

Win is a neutral and demilitarized Ukraine with some parts of it going back to Russia.
Snake Island? really? You are going to talk about Snake Island?

Now let me ask you a question. Who do you think is shelling Nuclear Power Plant?

Seriously? Putler still tells the Russian people that Ukraine will be demilitarized. How in the world will this happen? There are more weapons in Ukraine now than what there was before Feb 28th. And now Ukraine has western weapons; not the Russian weapons. Russia will have negotiate to keep Crimea, if they are lucky.

Russia will have negotiate to keep Crimea, if they are lucky.
Russia will nuke Kiev if necessary to keep Crimea.
No negotiations.
And again, recent retreat is not as significant as CNN says. In fact it's probably good thing for Russia and bad for Ukraine in the long run.
