How should west respond to potential (likely) Russian invasion of Ukraine?

A bad day for the Russian navy.

.....
Ukraine's military says it attacked and destroyed a Russian submarine while it was anchored at a port in the occupied Crimean peninsula.

The Rostov-on-Don, a kilo-class attack submarine launched in 2014, sank after it was struck in a missile attack on the port city of Sevastopol on Friday, Ukraine's general staff said in a statement.
....

You'd think they would have learned by now not to park in Sevastopol.

U.S. soldiers act as a sort of insurance. Whether there are 100 or 500 U.S. soldiers is completely irrelevant, because if any violent conflict occurs and U.S. soldiers are injured or killed, there will be a huge uproar in the U.S. The media will shout, "Our boys are..." and after that, no U.S. politician will dare oppose sending weapons to the northern front.
What northern front?
I am sorry to break it to you, but the plan is for you to pay to your tax euros LM and Boeing for their expensive toys.
And they are not going to protect you from Russia if shit hits the fan. Meanwhile you lost trade with Russia.
So less money earned, more money sent to fat MIC cats in US. Dancing queen Sana Marin did a great job in Finland.
Do you know where she is now? And do you know why is she there?
1) Trade restrictions hurt the smaller party more than they hurt the bigger party.

2) You seem to not be aware of military reality. Putin isn't going to hit a US base!

Most of the world disagrees with you.
That's patently false. Most of the world is with Russia
You have a very poor understanding of the world.

A simple test. Lots of countries (everything blue on this map, the other colors are for aid other than weapons) are sending arms to Ukraine.

That's pretty close to the whole developed world other than Switzerland.

There's no need for a map in the other direction, nobody's given you aid.

You forgot India (largest Democracy in the world), Brasil, Vietnam, whole Africa and the whole ME (except Israel). Slovakia, Hungary, Austria.
Czech Republic does not really support Ukraine, regime, US machinated into power, does but people don't. US tried ro do the same in Slovakia and failed. Same with Hungary, attempts to "democratically" overthrow Orban failed.
I really doubt that Bulgaria support your war on Russia. I can believe you have Poland and to some extent Baltic States.
You're listing countries that are willing to do business with you, not countries that are aiding you.

Only China and India are meaningful economically.

the Ukrainians amplified their operations by deploying the newest ground drones equipped with powerful hydrogen bombs, erasing the Russian positions.
I seriously doubt that the Ukrainians have any hydrogen bombs (since 1994, when they disarmed in accordance with the Budapest Memorandum), and if they did, they definitely wouldn't use them as tactical weapons.

The weapon in question was an unmanned vehicle-mounted bomb that used a hydrogen mixture with air as a chemical explosive; A "hydrogen bomb", by contrast, is a nuclear fusion device.
Well, a hydrogen-based FAE could be called a hydrogen bomb. Technically true but misleading.

They didn't have a choice.

It was the sub they hit before. At the time the military people thought it was not economic to repair, but apparently Russia tried to do something. They patched it up enough it could float and Ukraine promoted it back to submarine.

And how daes this picture refute my claim?

And you are listing countries with governments which Washington directly controls.
Russia does not need aid, we can fight NATO scum without help.

Well, they sure the heck haven't won yet.
Well, Elensky is talking about "territories in exchange for peace" referendum.
Oh, that is right, I forgot Russia was only trying to Annex smalls part of Ukraine.
that's what Elensky wants. I want the whole shebang including Western Ukraine.
Also, I would like to restore Russian borders as they were in 1916. So our finish and polish, for that matter, friends might start moderating their trash talk.
Youngster!

Go back to it's origin: 1547.
Cool, you would have to vacate North America.

Watch also the "Russian Soldiers are Starving on the Front"-video (above) by the Estonian guy Artur Rehi.
Begin to watch at 08:00.
He talks about socialism at 8:00, nothing about starving soldiers.
I told you to begin at 08:00. Not that anyone is starving in the next minutes - just so that you would learn something.
Better yet: Watch through all those videos, then think about a week or so. ;)
I am not wasting my time on that BS.

I would hate to be the officer responsible for leaving their sub in port in missile range. meanwhile some Ukrainians are going to get medals.

Barbos! I have understood that you are too lazy to educate yourself, but here are something you should think about:
- BNP of Russia is about the same as Italy. Or about the same as Texas.
- Russia is a country which industry is something like what west had some 50 - 80 years ago, with some rare expectations.
- The moral of Russian officials is something like the west had in the 17th century.
- The bulk of the workforce is quite uneducated and they have a serf-mentality.
- China and India is helping Russia only if they get an immediate gain from it.
- Russia is economically in deep shit, high inflation, the funds are very small nowadays etc.
- Russia is killing its own people in many levels, not only at the front - decades to come.
- Putin has broken every peace agreement he has signed, as well as most international treaties. Russia consistently violates even the agreements it has made with its own soldiers.
- When peace eventually comes to Ukraine/west, the organized violence/wars in Russia will continue.

- The bulk of the workforce is quite uneducated and they have a serf-mentality.

When the USSR fell apart Russians were among the best educated people on the planet. The average worker was more educated than the average western worker. Not just on practical industrial stuff. But every branch of academia. Any random Russian construction worker can quote Kafka or Proust.

This is one thing communist regimes excell at. The other is healthcare

Russia has been free market for 30 years now. So perhaps it now really is retarded. But education is transmitted as much from parent to child as from professors to students. So I suspect the average knowledge base of Russians is quite high.

Westerners are often uneducated and retarded. University systems like USA or India forces students to focus on applied studies. Because the studies have to pay it off for the student. Which good for the economy. But it leads to a nation of specialised one-trick ponies

Scandinavia still has a communist style education system. It's pretty jarring when I speak with my upper middle class English relatives and realise how shallow their education has been. They're doctors and engineers and such. They just don't have the big picture. Because the British educational system doesn't encourage free exploration

Just because Russia is led by a knuckle dragging homicidal buffoon, doesn't mean Russians are dumb. Whoever controls the oil and the gas in Russia controls Russia. It doesn't matter how well educated the Russians are, it's a power differential. Russians are just playing along with the charade. Just like they did in Soviet times

That's fucking rich coming from someone who bases his opinions on his life in 90s Russia.
Russia is a country which industry is something like what west had some 50 - 80 years ago, with some rare expectations.
Sure.
I told that I lived in Russia 1996-2003. That does not mean that I do not get information from Russia - even today.

Correction:
The word "expectations" should be "exceptions" =>
Russia is a country which industry is something like what west had some 50 - 80 years ago, with some rare exceptions.

Ukro-nazi news is not information FROM Russia.
And yes, BS your managed to spit so far suggests that you are basing your opinions on the the 90s Russia.
That's why I asked you when you were living there in the first place.
Reality is, Russia today is not 90s Russia. If you want to see 90s Russia you go to .... Ukraine.
They have some 90s shit some find nostalgic.

Yes, Kafka and Proust - that might be true in Moscow and St Petersburg. The education in smaller towns are/were never that good. In USSR and Russia they learn their mother tongue and also mathematics quite well, but otherwise not so good.

About "Scandinavia still has a communist style education system.":

The Russians are not dumb, just their education system is and has been.

Bull!
I can be in contact with my Russian friends when ever I like. Until 2014 my family was Russian.
But it is true that you do not get any information from the Russian media that is not state-propaganda.
And the TV-programs are more or less imperialistic-fascist lies & propaganda.
Typically the Russians does not get any other information as they does not speak any foreign languages. And they are not educated in "media-reading".

About Ukrainians:
As the war shows - they learn very fast.
