- A military unit of let's say 300 soldiers are at the front.
- They are commanded to attack the Ukrainian army.
- 100 are killed, 150 are wounded.
- The top brass in that unit makes papers that says 50 killed 100 wounded.
- Wounded that can still walk are sent to the front again. They die within a week or so.
If they try to retreat, they will be shot. Just as in the Stalin era.

- Then comes the payday. Remember that 100 are killed and more will be killed, but only 50 are reported as dead. The rest of the "dead" signs papers (forged of course) that they received their payments and the brass puts that money in their pockets.
This was already common before the revolution1917.

Result: There are units that exists only on paper. And after a time the already dead are reported dead. But the officers do not need to worry. They are sent more soldiers, more "meat-waves". And why to train these new soldiers? Even the church ( as a part of FSB) tells the soldiers that it is good to die for the 'czar' - that is Putin - and for Mother Russia.

The problem of all this are those wounded that are sent to the hospitals (without a leg or arm). They can't be sent home as they will tell people what is really happening.
The same with POWs. Russia does not want to change POWs with the Ukrainians as they do not know where to send the Russian POWs after they got back to Russia?
