No. I’m saying that it is possible at least in the case of chemical ingestion-induced hallucinations, to develop a faculty for “controlling” them, or at least their secondary effects like adrenal reactions that exacerbate the suffering. I don’t suppose I’m schizy enough to know for sure but I strongly suspect there is profound potential there.

No. You're not at all schizy, but you do have a sense of humor, which we all need these days. Plus, I do appreciate those of you who did psychedelics sharing your experiences with them. I was super straight until I reached 30 and then THC and ETOH are the only non prescription drugs I've ever used in my life. I've only been drunk once or twice in my late 20s and it was Mr. Sohy who got me into weed. I don't use it anymore and he almost never does. It stopped doing a thing for me. I tried Delta 8 for pain as that was suggested to me, but it just made me a bit ditzy and was very unpleasant. My Rx. pain drugs never made me high and gabapentin, which I think you mentioned some time ago, did nothing for me. Lyrica might lower my pain a tiny bit, but would need a huge dosage to help my pain. We are all so different in our drugs impact our brains.

Very true. That’s what gives me pause about telling anyone to do this or take that, promising any particular result. I’m interested in what works for people and how it works, but the bottom line is no substance exists that has identical effects on different people when ingested. From food to fentanyl, we all have different experiences.

I've always had the impression that most people do not internalize. I get surprized how fast interviewees on TV respond to questions. They can answer, even deaply, without a pause?
I was once (only once) on a raidio talk show with some friends, to plug our sci-fi convention. The host asked me a simple question, and while I was thinking how to answer he went on to the next question to someone else. This happened twice then he stoped calling on me at all.

I ALLWAYS rehearse (in my head) everything I say or write. Hopefully the pause is short enough that people don't notice.
There have been times of stress when this internal dialog came close to the surface. Actuall 2 way dialog. Replaying old conversations and arguments. Sometimes with hand gesters or lip movements. And coworkers noticed.

On the outside, I don't even talk to my cat. (but he talks to me anyway)

Spend a Sunday morning watching the political shows and take a drink every time someone starts an answer with "That's an important question," or "I'm happy to respond to that". You'll be too drunk to walk by game time. The trick to quick answers is an opening line that keeps their attention, but doesn't mean anything, while collecting a real response.

That's amateur hour. A real politician can give an entire answer that keeps their attention, but that talks about what the politician came to say, and doesn't mention whatever the interviewer asked about at all.

My internal monologue keeps asking me why I bother to read or reply to the posts in the political forum. It keeps telling me that many if not most of them sound like, "I know you are but what am I?". You're an idiot, no you're the idiot.....Can you even read?,,,,,,You have the reading comprehension of a 2nd grade child...Oh yeah......You have no idea what you're talking about.....I know you are, but what am I?........On and on it goes and where it ends nobody knows.....How many times has anyone said, "Oh thanks for informing me about that. I had no idea".....Well that is unless it's sarcasm.....Stop, my internal monologue says to me......I don't know if I can I tell it back....It also asks me why I make so many spelling and grammatical errors, while noticing them after it's too late to correct them. WTF man. STFU internal monologue.....No you STFU.....Seriously, IM, STFU or I'll turn you off.....just try....
