The last honorable Republican.
The last honorable Republican.
John McCain wasn't "Roved". He was "impalined".
No, I liked him even before everything became about 45. Had principles and stuck with them, and I appreciate that in a person even if I disagreed with a lot of those principles and opposed many of his projects. At least, with McCain, you felt like the other side was arguing in good faith, not holding up false positions or wading in double-speak.
I agree. Unlike most current "Republicans", John McCain appeared to hold true to the traditional Republican values. I disagreed with a majority of his positions and views, but I felt he believed in what he said. And, that he was willing to compromise when it made sense, and he was willing to stand firm when he felt he had to.
Not his dying, that he announced the end of treatment at a ‘questionable’ time. Man she must be real pissed that McCain went the full monty and died during her mammoth bus tour.https://www.rawstory.com/2018/08/ar...es-john-mccain-dying-push-negative-narrative/
And right on cue, Arizona GOP senate candidate Kelli Ward accuses John McCain of dying in order to push a "negative narrative" about her.

Shit, should I have posted this in the "Day without stupid" thread?
I thought McCain was a typical Repub who played the media game better than most.
In the age of Trump, he now seems like George Washington.
Not so obscure movie quote - "Politicians, ugly buildings, and whores all get respectable if they last long enough."
President Trump nixed issuing a statement that praised the heroism and life of Sen. John McCain, telling senior aides he preferred to issue a tweet before posting one Saturday night that did not include any kind words for the late Arizona Republican.
*snip*
...Trump told aides he wanted to post a brief tweet instead, and the statement praising McCain’s life was not released.
This is pretty vile, if accurate:
Trump rejected plans for a White House statement praising McCain

1)Everyone is compared to Hitler by some fringe nut except Jill Stein and Mitt Romney, which is why they will never be president.I'm old enough to remember when the left and the media called McCain the new Hitler. But who can recall a decade ago?

What Trausti is trying to say is he is old enough, he has dementia and remembers things that never happened.I'm old enough to remember when the left and the media called McCain the new Hitler. But who can recall a decade ago?
I followed that election quite closely and don't remember much of that at all. What media? Citation?
Just found out his mother, age 106, is still alive.
