LA Riots 2025

I read that 13 Million people protested Trump's government on 14 June. Really? Wow!
The claim originates at
Alt National Park Service

(In addition to the Facebook page above, this resistance within NPS has its own URL: altnps.org which just redirects to ourparks.org .)

13 is more than twice the number I've seen around. 5 million may be a high count. 5 million would still be the biggest protest in US history.
I've seen estimates of five to eight million.

lol, you and Newsom would rather see LA burn to the ground.
Between a couple of randos throwing rocks and a full on staged invasion of masked secret police, Marines and Predator drones, I know which option I'm more worried about "burning the city to the ground".

It’s easy to stand on the side whining when it’s not your livelihood getting looted and then going up in flames.

You're not a business owner are you.

Not at the moment, but I have been. And I assure you, if I was having problems with theft, I'd want the city police to answer my call, not the marines, the national guard, or a fucking killer robot piloted by some kid in a bunker.

The problem wasn't theft. The problem was the destruction of property by rioting, out of control mobs. The LAPD chief said his forces were overwhelmed. The police would not be able to attend your call anyway because they were pinned below a freeway overpass while rioters hurled concrete at their heads and fired commercial grade fireworks at them.

The LAPD said they were overwhelmed on June 8. The “riot” started on June 6.

This could get interesting

ICE showed up at Dodger's Stadium and the Dodgers refused to let them on the property.

Los Angeles CNN — US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents attempted to enter Dodger Stadium on Thursday but were denied entry to the grounds by the team, the Dodgers said on social media.

“This morning, ICE agents came to Dodger Stadium and requested permission to access the parking lots. They were denied entry to the grounds by the organization. Tonight’s game will be played as scheduled,” the team said in a post on X.

CNN has reached out to ICE for comment.
In a post on X, DHS said the vehicles belonged to US Customs and Border Protection.

“This had nothing to do with the Dodgers. CBP vehicles were in the stadium parking lot very briefly, unrelated to any operation or enforcement,” the post said.

The Dodgers have a huge Hispanic fan base and are playing today. Given how the Trump administration lies to lie, I think that it would be foolish to think that ICE parking in the Dodgers parking lot had nothing to do with any operation or enforcement.

I also read 5 million. But several citys had 1 million each, so it was probably more.
Over a thousand locations, so it wouldn't be hard to reach 5 million.
The small county seat protest I was at, had 500-1000 people.

silly old duffer should know better but this is what LAPD has to contend with.

I've heard long ago, that horses are used because they are big and imposing, stronger than humans, and can breakup crowds.
The horse was not threatend.
This vid does not show how it started. Slow it down. It clearly shows the old guy had his arms at his side. The horse pushing the old guy. and the officer hitting the old guy with his club.
This is what peaceful protesters have to contend with.

Horses are used because cavalry beats infantry, and riot policing was done with soldiers up until the invention of police forces in the 1820s.

Police forces worldwide still think of crowd control as a military engagement, with the public as their enemy.

Did anybody suggest that LA would be obliterated? Are riots ok if damages from it are <$23G?

Anyway, in other LA and ICE related news:

Cudahy vice mayor allegedly calls on gang members to stand up against immigration raids
ABC 7 said:
The vice mayor of Cudahy is under fire after posting on social media, allegedly calling on gang members to stand up against immigration raids.
A shocking message about the immigration raids was posted on Instagram by the elected official Cynthia Gonzalez, who serves as the vice mayor of the city of Cudahy, located in southeast Los Angeles County. The message isn't for the federal government. It's allegedly for the "cholos," a slang term in the U.S. meaning gang members, in Southern California.
"I wanna know where all the cholos are at in Los Angeles. 18th Street, Florencia. Where's the leadership at?... Now that your hood is being invaded by the biggest gang there is, there ain't a peep out of you... Don't be trying to claim no block, no nothing if you're not showing up right now trying to help out and organize," Gonzalez said, according to the video.
The video, which is over one minute long, has since been taken down. The FBI can't confirm or deny an investigation into Gonzalez's words, but ABC7 legal analyst Josh Ritter believes the vice mayor's call to action may have crossed the legal line.
