We have an even bigger problem in the UK. We have several Muslim councillors and some MPs but not one stoning, beheading or flogging of anyone.

You do have Subways that have gone halal only though.

Also, Khan is an anti-police lawyer. He'd be objectionable even if he weren't a Muslim.

I have no problem with Halal beef. It actually tastes better. I don't like Subways however.If people don't like it they can eat elsewhere. So what if he has defended some shady characters. That's what many lawyers do.

Muslims who came here legally and were born here and have British passports have the same rights as any other citizen. Illegal is a different issue. It's up to the various parties who stands and the electorate whether to vote for them or not. We have Muslim MPs, Lords and councillors. No one's had their hands chopped off yet.

In UK politics, Mayor of London is an elected office second in prestige only to the Prime Minister.

Why this is I do not know, nor do I know what the various First Ministers (Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, which has two...) think about it...

According that wiki article, there is a difference between the Lord Mayor of London, and the Mayor of London, with the Lord Mayor having considerably more power, and Khan is the Mayor of London, rather than the Lord Mayor.

So even if it is a 'high' office, Sadiq's election hasn't disproven angelo's allegation that someone predicted no muslim would ever hold high office in Great Britain.

That was the day the mus...eatball sub died. It was a huge deal. People railed about here. Subways all over England... or at least in areas where a good number of Muslims lived, modified their menus (or at least changed the source of the meat products) to help draw in the majority population in a group.

Meanwhile, in America, Fish Frys in on Friday during Lent have drawn millions of white people to the streets in protests against Christians forcing restaurants to served fried fish.
