The margin of victory was 1.5 percentage points, which is considered the fifth smallest margin of victory in the thirty-two presidential races held since 1900.
Indeed. Despite the anti-incumbent sentiment worldwide, a better candidate would likely have won.
Which makes Biden's decision to drag out his long goodbye until Dems were stuck with Kami all the more disastrous.
Dems could have won 2024, by having Joe Biden withdraw as a candidate in 2023 and by having a proper primary in 2024.
He beat a girl with all the “shoulda been fatal” flaws you keep dwelling on (irrationally) - by a whopping one and a half percentage points. Congratulations to the Felon, but the margin doesn’t matter now.
I wish y'all would stop with the "Felon" moniker. Without that ill-conceived prosecution, even Kamala Harris might have prevailed against Trump. After all, they both have plenty of "shoulda been fatal" flaws.
Alvin Bragg, who usually loves to
downgrade clear felonies to misdemeanors prosecuted a clear misdemeanor as a felony based on a half-baked "novel legal theory". Add to that the fact that both Feds and the previous Manhattan DA passed on this Hush Money case, as well as the salacious nature of the underlying offense, and many people saw Trump as somebody unjustly persecuted by his political opponents.
In the end, the convictions did not hurt Trump. In fact, they helped him.
The Republicans could elect a cabbage running against Jesus Himself, with enough help from Putin, Musk & Co.
But Dems nominated a turnip to run against the cabbage, and are then baffled that it was a tossup and that they did not run away with it.
