Pelosi: Impeachment Is Moving Forward

Is this up to a SCOTUS appeal yet? Also, there should be no appeal allowed. The law is settled on this issue.

McGahn is funny to. I'll testify if the judge says I need to. Now it is, I'll testify if the Trump Admin doesn't appeal.

You're always allowed to attempt an appeal. Not all courts have to accept an appeal.

December 4th. If he showed, would he make a spectacle of himself?

Well, you are cordially invited Fuckstick.

At base, the president has a choice to make: He can take this opportunity to be represented in the impeachment hearings, or he can stop complaining about the process.

Nadler said in his letter that the hearing was intended as an opportunity to discuss the historical and constitutional basis of impeachment, as well as the meaning of terms like “high crimes and misdemeanors.”
Finally. If you stood on the street asking people to define "high crimes and misdemeanors", you'd die of exposure before you got anything close to a correct answer.

Clearly Donald Trump has a problem with violence. The problem is that he likes it. He's not out shooting people himself but he clearly enjoys wishing violence on people who disagree with him. That's violence.

I suppose in that insular world that is his and one in which he can simply remove people who disagree with him, he has no incentive to work with people or maintain contact with people whom he labels as his enemy. He tries to humiliate them, just wants them eliminated or subjugated because he doesn't see them as equals but rather as inferior. He's really a bit of a social dinosaur with too much testosterone.

The worst thing to do is to return this same invective his way.

Biden doesn't need any slandering against him to destroy what little credibility he has left. He's doing that all by himself.

Make that your opening salvo in a courtroom and the judge will throw it out.

If the judge was a Democrat/lefty. he probably would throw it out! But judges are supposed to be neutral and abide by the laws of the country, aren't they?

That's what they do, 'abide by the laws of the country,' and is precisely why the judge, whatever persuasion you prefer, would throw it out.

Clearly you don't know anything about how courtrooms actually work and what judges actually do.

Clearly, that. But conservatards know that all ya gotta do if you don't like a ruling, is attack the judge. Helps if they're Hispnic, or otherwise pigmentally compromised, but that's not necessary. tRumpy lit the way down that hellhole, and the lemmings follow in lockstep.

At least this article bolsters my take on the Dems futile efforts to remove their nemesis from the Oval office.

Heh. Who says the Dems don't want to run against Cheato? In fact, they only want to put Trump's stupidity, greed and incredible mendacity on display for the nation. It will make Putin's job of re-installing him that much harder.

Who will have aided Trump should he win, as it looks likely, in 2020? Somehow Putin again? You don't give Americans much credit for voting the way they did, except the left leaning ones do you?

Support from a conservative columnist. Look at you.

Oh, I see, only left leaning columnists, New York Times, Grudian etc have credibility right?

Oh, not at all. I'm partial to reporters.

President Ellipsis said:
I have been watching people making phone calls my entire life. My hearing is, and has been, great. Never have I been watching a person making a call, which was not on speakerphone, and been able to hear or understand a conversation. I’ve even tried, but to no avail. Try it live!
Umm... yes... I have... many have... it isn't that hard. If the volume is high enough, it is quite doable. Of course, the question could be why was this call on a private phone as well.
I have overheard calls particularly from my mother-in-law, who has a loud voice--I generally leave the room.

The sad thing to me is that our country is so divided that people who support Trump aren't paying attention to the negative things he has done. So, I have come to the conclusion that this impeachment isn't going to change anyone's mind, especially when the Republicans don't seem interested in looking at the evidence or learning the truth. Instead they call the impeachment a circus etc. They brand even the most moderate Democrat as a far left socialist. It's what autocrats and their followers do. It's not an easy think to defeat.

The Nixon impeachment began like this one did, but back then, we didn't have Fox News or any of the far right radio propaganda shows. Everyone read or watched the same television coverage of the impeachment. In time, this changed a lot of minds. I am not the least bit optimistic that this will happen with Trump. Trump has a weird type of charisma that Nixon completely lacked. In fact, someone like Nixon would never be elected these days. It's all about reality TV, drama and charisma now. Trump tells his supporters exactly what he thinks they want to hear, and they take it in like the followers of Jim Jones drank his poison Kool Aide.

If the Democratic House impeaches Trump but the GOP controlled Senate refuses to, it will still not help Trump's re-election campaign. If Trump loses re-election, and I strongly suspect he will lose, the right wingers will bitch and moan that the impeachment effort cost Trump re-election, whether it does or not. It will give the right wing moron media something to bitch and moan about for at least 4 more years. They will paint St. Trump as a martyr to unfair political dirty tricks, blah, blah, blah. Whoever wins election will be demonized in a manner that will only be called insane.

The problem for the GOP is, where to next? Double down on the crazy? Try to move away from the crazy? Who will rise to save the GOP from the crazies? How will they battle Faux Nooz idiocy to come? 2021 will be a very interesting year I suspect.

Think of it this way. If all that good liberal legislation over the decades - never mind if it came from republicans or democrats - had not been successful we would never have seen a person like Trumpo become president. It's the same effect as has occurred in South American countries when liberal legislation has succeeded in raising the standard of living for millions of people and given them a voice in the electoral process.

I don't take much pride in a Trumpty Dumpty Presidency but at least I can understand it. The only unfortunate part of all this is that a person like Trumpo can be elected with less than a majority. He may take the next presidential election and still lose the popular vote by as much as 7% compared to his opponent.

.,.. the right wingers will bitch and moan that the impeachment effort cost Trump re-election, whether it does or not. .

To which any right minded person would reply "good!". Treasonous criminals shouldn't be president.
Of course the right wing trumputin propaganda machine will claim that [whoever is elected] is the treasonous criminal, and will blithely cite the latest line from the Kremlin as proof.

I don't see any way short of pulling the plug on the Rupert News Network, to diminish the antagonism for the truth that now fully engenders conservatism and its sympathizers.
Which is a shame, because it would take an action of the sort to which Putin would resort, to actually do away with Rupert's propaganda spreading machine... unless someone has an idea that doesn't??? Could airways (a public asset) be better controlled to prohibit and provide penalties for willfully spreading falsehoods represented as news? Is there any way to reliably distinguish that kind of activity from simple expressions of opinions?

Good? I don't know. This might unleash an era of extremism unlike anything we have seen before. And a race to find somebody even stupider than Trump to fill his role as crude and stupid right winger "anointed by God". We might see an era of hatefulness and irresponsibility that will shock sane Americans. I see few moderate Republicans who can turn the GOP around. I might be wrong, I hope I am wrong. Looking closely at polls and surveys, I am sure women will turn Trump out of office. And the war on women we see in the GOP will become a third rail that will force change. Ectopic pregnancies in Ohio. It is getting insane out there. Climate denial turns off young voters. Rat fucking obstructionism from the likes of Turtle McConnell is not playing well. Voter caging, voter harassment and discouragement and extreme gerrymandering is not playing well. Trump's plans to attack social security, Medicare and Medicaid is turning off women. Destroying ACA is not popular with women. The GOP must change if they want to have any chance to elect a president for years to come. Maybe wiser heads will realize that and make an honest effort to change. Perhaps Mitt Romney might see his chance to be the voice of reason for the GOP after the fall. But if Trump loses, expect turmoil as the GOP has to deal with the fallout of a repudiation of Trumpism and crazypants Christian theocracy and obstructionism from the GOP.
