Political Rant Funny Images II

I thought that Wikipedia eroded our ability to obtain reliable information.
Well you were misled. Wikipedia is peer reviewed. As reliable as any medical journal.
Right-wingers and sheeple (and for-pay encyclopedias) bad mouth Wikipedia because it is not as biased as they are.
Google, is the one that "eroded our ability to obtain reliable information."

Sure it is.
Wikipedia is pretty reliable, as long as you don't want information about stuff that attracts wikivandals, and you are on your guard against such vandalism, and you know how to detect it.

If I pick up a copy of The Lancet, I can be confident that the information therein hasn't just been edited into nonsense by antivaxxers, and not yet repaired.

Any idea why edge blocked the image Blastula posted?
(this was not the first one)

Does it block Tik-Tok by default?

That would be in keeping with Microsoft rule number one: If your computer has Microsoft software on it, it's not your computer anymore, it's Microsoft's computer.

Wikipedia also suffers from the problem of equating prevalence of opinion with the truth. Don't expect to find unpopular truths there. And it's "truth" is often cherry-picked. Wikipedia is quite good on things which are not at all controversial, but is questionable on things that are. Lists are almost always true, but should not be considered complete.

X is blocked. I only see:
"cannot connect to X. Disable any adblocker and tracking prevention then try again"
LIKE HELL I WILL.
Adblocker and tracking prevention are my friends. They work for me. If you got a problem with them, I got a problem with you.
But I can right click and 'open in new tab'. And still read the post.
You mean the one with the dog peeing on an inflatable trump?
Uh... That must be the one. I missed it. Is there a work-around? Like the one with X

You don't need to disable your ad blocker completely. Just tell it to allow the site.

Why would anyone want to do that?

There have been several generally reputable news sites where I wanted to read a story usually linked by someone here. I've disabled blacking if it looked like a story I wanted to read. IIRC, one was The Economist. I'm careful about what sites I unblack but I see no harm disabling Ad Blocking for The Economist and similar reputable sites.
