President Trump on verge of death! ... well... I have to assume.

I don’t know how a tourist would receive a census form in the United States. Do they hand them out in hotels or something? Don’t know.
Looks like the US tries to count everyone by their usual home address.

Yeah, we count where people live, not where they are. What do you do about people who aren't in a bed on census night? I've been on a variety of overnight vehicles. I have been in a tent under the stars. I've had a night timezoned out of existence by a plane.

The ABS does their best to track them down, and get them to complete a form. Some of the details are at the link I gave earlier.

Not a problem; You just say so on your census form.

The Australian census is a snapshot of who is in Australia on census night, and where. If you are on an international flight, you aren't in the country.

It's not so easy to escape the clutches of being American.
If you are flying over international waters for even one minute (and even if thousands of miles from any U.S. territory) you are deemed to be inside the U.S. for that entire 24 hours when applying the "physical presence" method of excluding foreign income from taxation.

(Whether you earned income during the flight is irrelevant. If you spend 51% of your days and earn 100% of your income on foreign soil, you can only exclude a maximum of 51% of your income. If 49%, the exclusion drops to zero.)

The OP was posted in clear jest, playing on a number of flaws of this administration.
What I am saying is in no joke. I see a definite change in the way he moves, sort of a neurological infirmity.
I do not wish any personal harm to Trump though India (we, people in general here) is disappointed by what he and his team have done.

What about Norfolk Island? THIRTY PERCENT tariffs!
And since there are only a couple thousand people there, the impact is massive.
2,188 people, at the 2021 census.

There were only 1,748 in 2016, but that year the Commonwealth Government changed the island's immigration status, making it a part of Australia for immigration purposes, and removing any barriers to people from the mainland who wanted to retire there.

The census figures are slightly misleading, though, as tourism is the major industry; At any time, about a quarter to one fifth of the people in the territory are visitors, so the permanent population likely remains fewer than 2,000 people.
Why would tourists be counted in any census?
The census counts everyone in the country, by their current location on census night. If you are somewhere in Australia that night, you should be recorded in the census at that location (and only that location), regardless of whether you are a permanent resident, visitor, tourist, or anything else.

They do also ask people whether this is their usual place of residence (which is how we know that 22% of people on Norfolk Island on census night 2021 were tourists).

Given the Census is about population and housing, it’s important that we record information about the types of places people stay on Census night.

The ABS travels from hospitals to hotels to houseboats, camping grounds to caravans, ski lodges to school camps, retirement villages to residential colleges, and secure apartment buildings to share-houses.

I presime from your question that the US census doesn't work that way; How does it work?

Do you make every adult male travel to his town of birth, even if his wife is expecting, all the inns are booked out, and her only transport option is a donkey? Because that would be completely absurd, and even the Romans never did anything so daft*.

* Though if you are writing bad fiction, you could use it as a plot device to get your hero, who everyone knew was from Nazareth, to be compliant with a prophesy that said he would be born in Bethlehem. It's not like anyone will ever care enough to check
I have always received a census form in the mail at my home address and have filled it on behalf of my family. I don’t know how a tourist would receive a census form in the United States. Do they hand them out in hotels or something? Don’t know.
We used to use this primitive method (I believe it is still available for those who for example don't have an internet connection). But most people for the past couple of decade in Australia have completed their census form on their computer, so don't need an expensive physical form, that also requires a person to deliver and pickup the form, as the way it used to be done.

Honestly, I don’t recall if the most recent on was done online not probably was. Maybe I received a making that gave me a URL.

Either way, since one of the primary purposes of the US census is to apportion representation in the government, I’d be very surprised if it included tourists who were out-of-state or non-US persons.

Nation: *elects the two oldest presidents in US History*

Also nation: *shocked when it turns out both of them have, or develop, a diminished mental capacity*

Come on people, third time's a charm! Chuck Grassley for president!

I think he's sundowning.
That too. But staying up most of the night rage tweeting has to take a lot out of him. A m not certain the White House ( open to staff ) has the same access to pharmaceuticals as they reportedly did during his first term. So less speed??
In most clips, I have a hard time differentiating his behavior from that of a stroke victim.

Grassley's a good choice, but he's only 92. Hasn't got enough experience under his belt. Clint Eastwood, he's my choice. A crisp 95, and as for belts, he cinches his trousers around his neck at this point. Make my day.

Thoughts and prayers I suppose.

I spent many years living ( not actually sharing the same household for most of those years) with someone with significant brain damage and then with early onset dementia.

I knew Reagan had early signs of dementia during his presidency. Biden? Slowing down cognitively but not dementia that I saw—but tbh, I read a lot more than I watch tv.

I’ve said many times that during Trump’s first bid for election, that I saw early signs of dementia. Yes, it’s worse now. A lot worse. Yes, his overall health seems worse. He did not start out with a high intellect or a sense of public service or any sense of right or wrong. He is a man of appetites and very little self discipline. He has always been a person who is self centered in the extreme, with tremendous ego and extremely fragile self esteem. His cognitive decline is amplifying these characteristics. His declining health is making these characteristics worse.

I will say again that I believe that this time next year, he will no longer be POTUS—and that has been the plan all along. Not his plan but Peter Thiel’s plan. The party’s plan.

I genuinely do not understand how so many people within the party—some of whom are quite intelligent and some who are also service minded have failed in their duty to prevent this disastrous, dangerous second term.

Because he is creating huge distractions from the decentralizing and dismantling of the regulatory wing of the Executive Branch. They have given him a bit too much leeway, but we aren't talking about the organizations his Admin is moving from DC, selling properties/buildings, so that it can't be reformed quickly.

I think they figured they could control him.

Nah, they just figured they could exploit the chaos he produced.

And they have.

Yes, but the war is costing them suppprt for the party. It can’t go on much longer.
