The pool has been "fixed" many times since 1920's. Obama did the last major redo.
The whole area was a swamp/wetland.
Legend has it that the Natives did not build there because it was a swamp.
They even drove a bunch of piles to bedrock some years ago.
It was a neat idea, just bad location.

No, it's a good bit warmer than normal. There's a major heat wave occurring in the NE of the US currently.
