But isn't Hearn the dude that pulled down the East Wing? I say, go for him.
President Donald Trump said Saturday he disagreed “100%” with the decision by federal prosecutors to drop a criminal charge of vandalism against a man accused of damaging the Reflecting Pool, rebuking U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro, one of his staunchest allies.
In a case that drew national attention, David “Davey” Hearn, a 67-year-old Olympic canoeist, was indicted on a felony charge after Pirro, the top federal prosecutor in D.C. and a longtime Trump ally, alleged that he “forcefully and violently” ripped the newly installed liner on the Lincoln Memorial’s Reflecting Pool.
Pirro’s office reversed course Friday, with a court filing that said the peeling of the liner was the result of a botched installation by a contractor rushing to finish the project ahead of celebrations to mark the nation’s 250th anniversary.
“I don’t know what she was thinking?” Trump wrote of Pirro on Truth Social on Saturday. “To me, it was a pure case of VANDALISM.” He acknowledged that “there may have been some contractor difficulty” but said the major cause was vandalism.

The scene where Potter describes George Bailey's brother in disparaging business terms and the townspeople as rabble could apply to today. George Bailey snaps back with saying "Those people do most of the working and living and dying in this town. What is wrong with people having a couple rooms and a bath. Doesn't it make them better citizens, better customers?" (Taken from memory so don't bust my chops if I got a little wrong.)or old man Potter in It's a Wonderful Life.
In September 2024, billionaire hedge-fund owner John Paulson — an adviser to the president and one of his biggest fundraisers — gave an interview supporting Trump’s tariff proposals on CNBC. “What you see is a hollowed-out American manufacturing base. And we need to protect American jobs and protect American manufacturing,” Paulson said. “We can’t have Americans — American producers closing American factories and offshoring.”
Paulson is a legendary figure in the world of New York finance. He made much of his money through a prescient bet against the U.S. housing market before its collapse in 2007, personally netting $4 billion. But through his investment firm, Paulson had other holdings that extended beyond the credit default swaps that so enriched him at the onset of the Great Recession. Over the years they included stakes in a mining company, a commercial forest interest and a media conglomerate.
And they included Conn Selmer, whose parent company, Steinway Musical Instruments, had been acquired in 2013 by Paulson’s investment business. Conn Selmer’s 61-year-old Eastlake factory, a low-slung building between a frontage road and a field overgrown with wild grass and goldenrod, was now opening for its last shift making instruments in the United States.
Musk, Zuck, Bezos control the bots and they control the message on the internet. If you have any boomer or elder GenX friends you may see that their social media feeds are batshit. Then watch the bots fill up the comments on any and every article…I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
But how can this guy be polling at even 35 or 37% approval, at this point? He's like a Bond villain, or old man Potter in It's a Wonderful Life. What is with people who cannot see that he is a liar 24 hours a day, week in, week out? Awful to think there's a third of the country with zero character assessment skills and with such a small grasp of reality.
They don’t need no steenkin’ bars.Is there no bar at all left?
My feed is filled with ads telling me Amazon is a great place to work, United Healthcare actually cares about people, and BlueChew Gold will make a 32 year old man feel like he's 15 again.Musk, Zuck, Bezos control the bots and they control the message on the internet. President Donald Trump is considering removing Jeanine Pirro, the US attorney for the District of Columbia, over a Justice Department conclusion that problems with the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool stemmed from a flawed renovation rather than vandalism, two people familiar with his thinking told CNN.
Trump on Saturday publicly criticized the move, posting to Truth Social: “I disagree 100% with Jeanine Pirro, the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, on the Reflecting Pool. I don’t know what she was thinking? To me, it was a pure case of VANDALISM.”
Collapsed like a folding chair!
All these freedom lovers that are silent on Trump's gross abuse of the DOJ over the reflection pool just show how full of shit they are.
