This convention looks slapped together by a 10 year old film maker wannabee with lots of ambition and no talent. I don't know why they bothered changing the theme every day, they could have just called the over all theme "Lock up Hillary" and been done with it.

The 3rd rate speakers were simply awful. What struck me particularly was how many of them were at least somewhat unhinged. I found the mothers of soldiers they trotted out to be in particularly bad taste. I also found it deeply hypocritical, as these same people pretended to care - the same people that HATED Cindy Sheehan. Remember her?

Whatever moderates are left in the party have been diminished for a long time now, but this convention seems to be the nail in the coffin for any chance at reconciliation between Republican party members, and any hope to salvage the party as anything but a running version of the various extreme GOP AM radio programs.

People were talking about the party breaking up, then that talk disappeared as most of the party lined up behind Trump. Nevertheless, if this party isn't breaking up, then surely it's been transformed into something even uglier than any of us thought possible. There used to be at least a pretext of professionalism behind it all, now even that has been abandoned.

I don't see how any conservative of conscience and intellect can remain in this party. Of course, I've actually been saying that for a long time, but seeing the majority of this party in one place, and noting how they really are a party of hate, of willing ignorance, and of little else is kind of stunning. I mean, they can't even provide leadership through a convention that lasts a few days. How can they hope to run the country?

Right. And there's also this: usually at a convention you get a glimpse of the party's up and comers; younger members whom the party believes to be on the rise/future leaders of the party. For example, Barrack Obama at the DNC in 2004 and Marco Rubio at the RNC four years ago.

But this time they trotted up the likes of Scott Baio, Mr. Turtle, and a bunch of other no-names and old farts.

Or are Trump's offspring the future of the GOP?

At one point in Pence's speech, Trump hovered near the curtain hardly able to contain himself in his need to be seen and heard above all others. The guy is a fruitcake and a megalomaniac.

It is amazing that people can actually listen to Cruz however. He appears intellectually challenged.

So... how many wars did Clinton get the US into? I mean war wars. Lots of boots on the ground, like Afghanistan, Iraq, the former Yugoslavia.
 
Well, Trump promised a kickass convention. We got a Convention that was purchased at IKEA.

Yeah, that whole thing. Woman was mocked for protesting a war/occupation her son died in. 10,000 Americans troops killed or maimed in it.

But wait... 4 died in Benghazi, Libya and Clinton ordered that the Ambassador should be killed and shit!

I have no idea how Susan Collins can stomach this or Linda Lingle. I mean what keeps them in this party? The Republicans have become worse than the WCW's NWO.
 
I almost expected to see Cindy Sheehan up there.
 
One side of me is pleased no one got hurt. The other wishes someone had gotten hurt. Which side is which?

No, I didn't see that. The fact that she is his daughter & was 15 at the time of that picture was enough to break my gag-o-meter. I wonder if I can get a new one from amazon.com and how much they cost.
 
The way she sidestepped the butt-pat was so smooth I bet she had a lot of practice.
 
Serious question: Are you required to have one of those hats to be a Texas Delegate, or does the Texas Rep committee hand them out to delegates...or does everyone in Texas just have one anyhow?
