RussiaGate

Donald Trump’s former chief strategist Steve Bannon has described the Trump Tower meeting between the president’s son and a group of Russians during the 2016 election campaign as “treasonous” and “unpatriotic”, according to an explosive new book seen by the Guardian.

Bannon, speaking to author Michael Wolff, warned that the investigation into alleged collusion with the Kremlin will focus on money laundering and predicted: “They’re going to crack Don Junior like an egg on national TV.”

And Trump responded with a statement.

"Steve Bannon has nothing to do with me or my presidency. When he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind. Steve was a staffer who worked for me after I had already won the nomination by defeating seventeen candidates, often described as the most talented field ever assembled in the Republican Party.

Now that he is on his own, Steve is learning that winning isn't as easy as I make it look. Steve had very little to do with our historic victory, which was delivered by the forgotten men and women of this country. Yet Steve had everything to do with the loss of a Senate seat in Alabama held for more than thirty years by Republicans. Steve doesn't represent my base—he's only in it for himself.

Steve pretends to be at war with the media, which he calls the opposition party, yet he spent his time at the White House leaking false information to the media to make himself seem far more important than he was. It is the only thing he does well. Steve was rarely in a one-on-one meeting with me and only pretends to have had influence to fool a few people with no access and no clue, whom he helped write phony books.

We have many great Republican members of Congress and candidates who are very supportive of the Make America Great Again agenda. Like me, they love the United States of America and are helping to finally take our country back and build it up, rather than simply seeking to burn it all down."

There is not enough popcorn.

Fucking seriously.

I wanna see these two gasbags handed knives and put in a steel cage, "WHERE ONLY ONE MAN WILL LEAVE!!!"

Every goddamn day it's something. That's just the surface Jerry Springer show that Trump is.

On pro-Trump forums, they're largely stick with the orange buffoon, but there are a significant number who appear fed up. As in, Bannon and Trump were co-geniuses, with Trump MAGA'ing while Bannon was busy putting up still I-beams to further support the invincible structure the two had gallantly built in the face of communism/libruls/media/socialists/take-your-pick.

But now? Now Trump's sold out to the Derp state/lost his way/has become an establishment Republican, etc.

Like I said, it appears that most are sticking with Trump, but if he loses even 10% of his base over this, the consequences could be dire (outside of the Jupiter-sized amount of bullshit he's already in trouble for).

So we have a confirmation of what everybody was suspecting - Trump and people around (his family certainly) were planning to lose and use it to make money trashing Clinton. Unfortunately for them they won and become leaders of the free world :)

With the help of you guys. Were you not content with ruining you home country, did you have to spread the misery?

It gets even better: Trump's lawyers have sent Bannon a cease and desist letter:

"You [Bannon] have breached the Agreement by, among other things, communicating with author Michael Wolff about Mr. Trump, his family members, and the Company, disclosing Confidential Information to Mr. Wolff, and making disparaging statements and in some cases outright defamatory statements to Mr. Wolff about Mr. Trump, his family members, and the Company, knowing that they would be included in Mr. Wolff’s book and publicity surrounding the marketing and sale of his book," Harder wrote in the letter.

“Mr. Trump and the Company hereby demand that you cease and desist from any and all further disclosure of Confidential Information, disparagement of Mr. Trump, his family members, his or their companies, and/or the Company, and communication with the media, including but not limited to Mr. Wolff and any and all other journalists, reports, authors and bloggers,” Harder wrote.

Company? Do they not realize the govt is not a company and citizens have first amendment rights?

Yeah, that's precious. "You said you weren't going to disclose what I said, but you said I said stuff that I say I didn't say so I'm going to sue you for pretending to disclose stuff..."
It's right up there with Manafort complaining about the Constitution being unconstitutional.

Bannon sez Wolff's book was authorized. ooops...

Well who let the Wolff in the White House?

“Wolff was given access to the Trump White House in its first year and conducted a reported 200 interviews for it.”
So says the LA Times.

Mitt Romney is running for the Senate? Finally. It's about time that they got a vibrant and exciting character in there as opposed to another bland and boring nobody who only fills up space.

Well, this is the State of Utah we are talking about.

Actually, it gets weirder, as Trump's lawyers are threatening suing Bannon over violating the non-disclosure agreement. Isn't that an admission that what he said is true, or do those agreements include lies as well?

It wasn't just non-disclosure. It was also "non-disparagement." You wanna work for the Trump campaign? Great, but when you quit or get fired you can't say anything bad about Donny Two Scoops!

He's going after the publishers...

The legal letter, a copy of which was obtained by CNNMoney, demanded that the publisher "cease and desist from any further publication, release or dissemination" of the book "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House."

Maybe Trump is getting a piece of the royalties, cuz it sure looks like he's trying to boost it...

Bye bye First Amendment

Oh come on! You don't really think they're going to stop publishing because some fat orange turd tells them to, do you? Especially after all this free publicity, it will be much easier to seek forgiveness than permission!

They are on really shaky ground, with Trump being the President. There is no privacy when you are the President these days.
