Merged So what's next for Trump?

I hope we finally see what happens when you "release the kraken."
Maybe it’s just me.
I thought The Kraken was a mythical beast. I figured it was kinda like “massive electoral fraud in 2020” which never existed (except in the form of the antics of the trumpsucking insurrectionists).
Anyhow, who would even notice if it was released?

Chesebro has now become the third domino to fall. He has accepted a plea deal. Others will likely be falling as well. So the two early trials are now no longer necessary.

"As part of his plea deal, Chesebro admitted that he conspired to put forward fake GOP electors in Georgia with Trump and former Trump lawyers Rudy Giuliani and John Eastman. Giuliani and Eastman have both pleaded not guilty in the Georgia case, and now face the prospect of Chesebro taking the witness stand against them."

"Prosecutors said in court that Chesebro acknowledged in the plea that he 'created and distributed false Electoral College documents' to Trump operatives in Georgia and other states, and that he worked 'in coordination with' the Trump campaign."

Will any of this get through to the Trumpanzees? Maybe 1%....
Trumpanzees are just a subset of trumpsuckers, who are a subset of Trump voters. You might not get any of the first two groups to glimpse the truth, but there may be a few voters who can be persuaded or disgusted into changing their vote away from Trump.

There have been some surveys where Trump suporters say that they will not vote for Trump in 2024 if he is convicted of a crime.
But they voted for Trump so they’re prob’ly liars.
I think it's more a case of they simply won't believe that it has happened.

Trump lost in 2020, but they still support him, because they believe he actually won.

If Trump is convicted, then they will still support him, because they'll believe he's actually innocent.

Reality has no effect on cultists; They are happy to believe whatever is necessary in order to justify their actions as in accordance with their principles.

"I could never vote for a convict. But Trump was wrongfully convicted, so it's OK for me to vote for Him".

If Trumpo is convicted of serious crimes, there will then be grounds to knock him off of some state ballots. Lots of elderly Trump voters who are anti-vaxxers are dying off. Some ex-Trump supporters are getting tired of him. And the Swifties are coming to the voting booths. With luck, Trump wil be the GOP nominee and go down in a glorious flame out. And then it is off to prison.

Last month the thinking was the early trials would let Trump's team see what kind of evidence/case Georgia will bring against him.... well, now they know there will be at least two more witnesses against him. :eating_popcorn:

They don't have principles. They have feelings and they believe whatever their feelings tell them. They lack scientific awareness but don't know they lack scientific awareness.

I think it's too early for people to know how they'll feel about Trump a year from now. I sure wish that Democrats had an alternative to Biden. I approve of his job performance so far, but the country needs younger leaders.

Blue States, maybe.

According to NPR, Biden won with three swing states giving him victory with only 44,000 votes. In 2016, Trump won by only 80,000 votes. While Biden is not very popular nationwide, neither is Trump. Trump being knocked off a few ballots would hurt. Axios claims 50% of Republicans will not vote for Trump if convicted. But even 10% abandoning Trump would doom him. Women voters are going to be voting and many of them angry. The problem for the GOP is that Trump will be the candidate of the GOP unless most states refuse to put him on their ballots. Or he chokes to death on a McDonald's hamburder.

The Intellectualist on X: "Fox's Mark Levin: "President Trump is 76 years old. If the Department of Justice gets its way, he will die in federal prison." @BadFoxGraphics, (vid link)" / X
Boo hoo hoo hoo hoo. :p

Mark Levin claimed that DT is a victim of political persecution.

Mark Levin neglects to mention a critical point: The espionage laws enacted in 1917 and 1918, which were used to target socialists, pacifists, and other anti-war activists. Woodrow Wilson is often celebrated for his Progressive economic and political reforms, his record on civil liberties, especially during World War I, was far more authoritarian. Thousands of anti-war activists were prosecuted under these laws, a move that seems at odds with the broader Progressive ideals of social justice and political reform. Wilson himself was a strong advocate for these laws, justifying them as necessary for national security during wartime.

What the individuals involved in the January 6th insurrection and their leaders are facing today is not a partisan vendetta. Rather, it's an enforcement of laws that have been established by a bipartisan legislative process. This makes the legal actions against them inherently nonpartisan, grounded in the rule of law that all political parties have contributed to.

Laws that the right wing normally *loves*.
