I almost left those out because in the transcription work I do, it's the general protocol in non-verbatim projects (and therefore my habit) to leave out "filler words" like those, where they are only occasionally needed for clear meaning. But then I realized that in this case, they were very meaningful. :D
 
My two favorite cash register receipts, based on truncated spelling (and sorry, they won't print with any resolution):
1- From a 1992 ticket to see Honey I Blew Up the Kid: ADMIT ONE...HONEY I BLEW U
2- From a grocery store in Yazoo City, Mississippi, where I purchased a bag of Tom's Hot Peanuts: 0.99...TOM'S HOT PEA

I was so proud of that second one. I showed it to people up here and said, "They have different snacks in Dixie. Acquired taste."

Truncation can do weird things. My old employer had some people working in the "Final Ass" department.
 
I passed a church today. The sign:

"The tomb is empty

Jesus is on the loose"

then it switched to what time to worship.

Why aren't you putting out a BOLO or an APB??
 
Rest easy. Nevada has concealed carry. Someone in the congregation probably shot him in the head, and the worshippers next to him were mad that he beat them to it.
