Trump VS COVID-19 Threat

That’s okay. I and tens of millions get direct deposits. ;)

Not okay for me and tens of millions of others. I have the pleasure of paying the IRS every tax season, so I don't have direct deposit info on file. I don't want his fucking name on my check, especially if sating his narcissism in this manner is going to cause a delay for people who really need it, like the elderly. I don't actually really need it, I am still working and getting paid, but I do have to take a one week furlough at the beginning of May, and the original time line would have meant that I would have been receiving the check right around that time, filling the gap rather nicely.
You are aware it is probably very legal to add for letters in front of Donald Trump's name on the front of the check, right?

While the anti Trumpsters and the leftist media are trying to pin the tragedy unfolding in the US on him, the real culprits are either deliberately or ignorantly [at best] silent on who is really to blame.

There is authoritative and compelling evidence — including a study from the University of Southampton — that if interventions in China had been conducted three weeks earlier, transmission of COVID-19 could have been reduced by 95 percent.

For 40 days, President Xi Jinping’s CPC concealed, destroyed, falsified, and fabricated information about the rampant spread of COVID-19 through its state-sanctioned massive surveillance and suppression of data; its misrepresentation of information; its silencing and criminalizing of its dissent; and its disappearance of its whistleblowers.

Sure, but when we can’t depend on the President of China to protect the American people, our backup has to be the President of the United States. Wouldn’t you agree?

Sure, but who was it that exclaimed it was racist and xenophobic when the Trump closed the borders to China back in Feb. ?

Trump's closure allowed people to get back to the US, about 40,000 of them. Meanwhile the European version was making its way to the east coast. There is also the added, why Trump care what anyone said if he thought he was doing the right thing? He didn't adjust his wall construction or migrant detainment amid heavy scrutiny. So lets stop pretending that what people might have said regarding Trump "closing" the border with China had any influence on the remaining lack of action from him for about 6 weeks.

There is pretty no good decision that Trump made at the right time. Trump fucked up. It is as simple as that. The disease was coming to America. Ignoring it for 6+ weeks wasn't something that had to happen. Elementary Schools in Ohio shouldn't have been more proactive on the virus than the President of the United States!

It seems unlikely that Trump closed the border with China, given that we do not have a border with China.

Regardless, rather than asking someone else to do your homework, why don't you prove your own point and show who said the travel ban was racist by providing a full quote, in context?

Fact check...........................Biden has not directly said that the restrictions were xenophobic.

Around the time the Trump administration announced the travel restriction, Biden said that Trump had a “record of hysteria, xenophobia, and fear-mongering.”

Biden used the phrase “xenophobic” in reply to a Trump tweet about limiting entry to travelers from China and in which Trump described the coronavirus as the “Chinese virus.” Biden did not spell out which part of Trump’s tweet was xenophobic.

OK, so in support of your claim, you cite a source that describes your claim as "mostly false".

That aside, Trump never blocked travel from China. He blocked non-US citizens from travelling directly from China to the US, but US citizens and residents could still enter - in theory with health checks, in practice those were often non-existent.

Unless you believe Americans are naturally immune against the disease, that's not going to stop a virus (and if you do believe that, there isn't much need to stop it...).

Well, Trump does have a history of hysteria, xenophobia and fear-mongering. How many examples would you like?. Also, going by your link, the very link you posted:

Trump’s statement contains an element of truth but ignores critical facts that would give a different impression. We rate it Mostly False.

What is it with right wingers and their lack of comprehension skills?

So, upon fact checking yourself, you have been unable to come up with an answer to your own question about who called the travel ban "racist and xenophobic". Thanks for exposing the total lack of awareness you have with regard to your own side of the argument, and the bad faith with which you have pursued it.

Ro Khanna on Twitter: "We are in the midst of another financial crisis and conservatives are criticizing the financial sense of the millions of Americans who live paycheck-to-paycheck.
Where is the concern for corporations that spent millions on stock buybacks and now don't have money for payroll? https://t.co/2ilDOogqVI" / Twitter

‘Flat-out wrong’: Conservatives clobber Trump’s ‘total' power boast - POLITICO - "The rhetoric drew particular ire because it sounded like a direct repudiation of long-standing conservative legal principles."
President Donald Trump’s bold claims that he has the ultimate power to order states to rev up their economies seemed certain — and perhaps designed — to provoke his critics on the left.

What was more surprising was the even stronger backlash Trump’s swagger immediately drew from the right, including from voices normally loath to cross the president.

...
To many, Trump’s pronouncements sounded like a direct repudiation of a long-standing conservative legal principle — that the federal government’s powers are limited to constitutionally approved subjects, like regulating interstate commerce and providing for the national defense. Many conservative legal crusades, including some enthusiastically embraced by Trump, are even based on those notions.

...
Still, the president has never evinced much enthusiasm for abstract ideas like federalism, even as he has vigorously placed adherents of that philosophy on the federal bench and Supreme Court. In speeches promoting his judicial nominees, Trump often praises them as brilliant, tough and the product of the finest schools, but rarely indicates any knowledge of their legal outlook.
Finally a Trump outrage that pisses off right-wingers.

I also would not be surprised if he does not understand such issues at all.

Who said it pissed them off? Every once in a while the GOP might make a statement here and there, but they have yet to pull Trump back in.

Yes, this is off topic, but do you people actually use paper checks? In the 21st century??

Yes, I do. What of it?!?

I don't own a cell phone, either.

I'm not saying (never have, never will) that my way is the only way, or any garbage like that, but it works for me.

No need to give me (or others like me) any grief for it, thanks.

Meanwhile, the guy who is the Acting Secretary of Homeland Security told the US this today.
ACTING Secretary of Homeland Security said:
Instead of having that gown or that mask or this glove, being a 70 cent pair of gloves, we need them to be a $100 pair of gloves and we need those facilities to start treating those gloves or those masks or those respirators much, much differently.
Yes! For instance we'll need to ignore science and say "yes... it is okay to treat two different patients with the same pair of gloves". It isn't like this is a hospital or something. We just need to make it happen. This is like the Neocon "Whatever it takes" Intelligence gathering mechanisms that sucked so much.

I can't imagine how many strained eyes there are of RN's after reading him saying that. Sorry about that Staph infection. We don't have such a problem with this usually, but that lobbiest who is in charge (acting) of Homeland Security says we just need to reuse this stuff from patient to patient.

Hey guys, did you know the 19 in covid-19 means there's been 18 versions before this one?

6 zombie claims about the coronavirus that just won’t go away - Wapo

5. That this is the 19th edition of the virus

Conway on Wednesday morning suggested the WHO was at fault because it has dealt with similar coronaviruses many times before.

“This is covid-19, not covid-1 folks, and so you would think the people in charge of the World Health Organization, facts and figures, would be on top of that,” Conway said on Fox News.

Conway was recycling a claim previously made by others including Rush Limbaugh.

“I said yesterday there are numerous types of coronavirus. This is coronavirus 19,” Limbaugh said. “Now, the official name of it is covid-19. But it’s in common parlance so that even people in Rio Linda can follow along, it’s coronavirus number 19.

Drew Pinsky has also affirmed it when a caller suggested there had been 18 previous coronaviruses.

In fact, the virus is called covid-19 because of the year in which it was discovered, 2019. And even as there have been past coronaviruses, they’re all different, and this one has proved significantly more contagious and deadly than many predecessors.

Dr. Drew has gone total quack over covid.
