Yeah so, if you love hockey or are from Canada (loving hockey being implied) this series on Hulu is absolutely hilarious. Season 4 comes out in a month in the US - already available in Canada on Crave.

LOVE Letterkenny. I enjoyed Shoresy, but I just don't grok the hockey jargon, so I end up confused a lot.

I didn't get most of the hockey jargon in Letterkenny either, but at least it was only some of the time.

Bill Mumy reprises his role as Anthony the boy who sends 'bad' people to the cornfield.
Now Anthony is 45 and has a daughter, played by Mumy's real-life daughter.
Also, Cloris Leachman reprises her role as Anthony's mom.

Finally found about the Goes Wrong Show, an absolutely genius take on a local actors group that put on shows that suffer from all sorts of issues. It only lasted two seasons, however, I ponder how hard it'd be to keep things fresh. I find this stuff repeatedly LOL funny. I don't find much comedy LOL any more. They find so many different ways to twist things. It is available on Peacock for those Stateside.

After finishing watching all of the "Columbo" episodes, we've been watching "Law and Order" and since it has 24 seasons, so it will keep us busy for a long time. I got hooked on it during the early 90s, but wanted to watch something old again. It has excellent writers, good acting and interesting plots. I even got Mr. Sohy hooked on it and he never had watched a single episode before. I guess we've gotten into murder mysteries and/or crime dramas lately. Any suggestions from that genre for me?

For something lighter, we watch the old "SNL" shows from the late 70s and early 80s.

All else equal, I like movies and series that develop without special coincidences, e.g. without sudden deaths. Thus I tend to prefer "dramas" over "thrillers." Perhaps some of the story-lines I object to involve "Jumping the shark." (It's hard for me to put this into words, or even understand my own tastes.)

If you like Keri Russell and political shows, watch The Diplomat. Another well acted, well produced, intriguing show.

I do like Keri Russell; I liked The Americans; and I loved The Diplomat Season 1. Wikipedia calls the former series a "drama" and the latter a "thriller" but The Diplomat Season 1 struck me as more of a good "drama" than a "thriller". And it also had the right amounts of humor and sentimentality.

But I was disappointed with The Diplomat Season 2. My biggest disappointment was the brevity: Only 6 episodes!?! Why so few? Most TV "seasons" are much longer than that whether measured in hours or number of episodes. I had been eagerly awaiting Season 2, and then finished it in a day or two. Now I must wait another year?

Another disappointment was that it almost "Jumped the Shark." I'm sure there was much in Season 1 that was implausible, but that helped the fun and the humor. For me, the twists in Season 2 just jerked the story too much. Of course I want to watch Season 3, but I'm not nearly as eager for it as I was for Season 2.

That’s a lot of episodes! I do enjoy Columbo and dip in and out. It’s airing on COZ channel and available on Tubi. I watched two episodes yesterday. One of them had Billy Connolly as the murderer. I like Columbo because it was shot in Los Angeles.

Started watching Cheers again. What a great show.

The only “Colombo” we haven’t watched is the 2nd pilot movie, which was made in 71. We watched the first pilot episode a few days ago and it was made in 68, but the series didn’t start until 71. After awhile, you get to know all of Columbo’s moves and how many times he going to tell the suspect that he has one more thing to ask him/her.

Patrick Mcgoohan was in at least one and I know he directed a few too. There’s an eerie plot line where a guy murders his wife by bashing her head with a big block of ice and she goes into the pool. The ice block melts in the pool, no murder weapon. William Shatner’s wife died in a pool accident in suspiciously similar circumstances if you ask me.

The one with the ice block was on COZI last night actually, although I fell asleep half way through. You have some facts mixed up though. The murderer with the block of ice is Robert Culp (dressed up as an ice cream man), and he killed his ne'er do well brother and business partner (played by Dean Stockwell), not his wife. My two favorite episodes are the one with Johnny Cash as a gospel singer who kills his bitchy manager (the great Ida Lupino) in a plane crash. The murder plot is interesting, but completely far fetched. The other episode is with Janet Leigh as an aged dancer looking to revive her career, but her husband won't let her, so she kills him. But she has a progressive brain disease, and soon forgets that she ever did it. Columbo, in a rare show of mercy toward a killer, drops the case at the end, as she only has a month or two to live anyway. Its a sad story all around.

My mom loved murder mysteries. Always had an Agatha Christie paperback with her. Perry Mason was her favorite TV show.

Yes, that was on the other night on COZI. I think, I’ve been recording episodes now and again so I can’t remember if I am watching it live or recorded.

It’s a fairly unique concept where you go into the show knowing who dunnit already.
