Will Biden drop out? Who replaces him?

It's not actually a book. Rather, the US constitution. Treason. While it rarely actually results in a death sentence it can.

US Constitution Article III said:
§3 Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court. The Congress shall have Power to declare the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person attainted.

It says nothing about trespassing in the Capitol being "treason".
Multiple high-ranking Republicans have admitted it was a coup attempt.

And note that trying to overthrow the government is "levying War against them". Even a palace coup doesn't change that.

The latter image comes much closer to Constitution's phrase "levying War against [the United States]" that the former. At least these #BLMers were heavily armed and took US territory with armed force.
How about the Branch Dildonians?

Kamala Harris Rapidly Picks Up Democratic Support as 2024 Race Is Reborn - The New York Times - July 23 - "Endorsements cascaded in as the vice president took swift control of the Biden campaign in a transformed contest, though some key Democrats, including Barack Obama, did not immediately back her."
Powerful leaders of the Democratic establishment quickly embraced Vice President Kamala Harris on Sunday after President Biden’s shocking exit from the race, hoping that a seamless succession could end a month of damaging chaos and transform a contest widely believed to be tipping toward Republicans.

By Sunday evening, Ms. Harris appeared to have a glide path to the nomination: No other top Democrats announced plans to challenge her, though some stopped short of an endorsement, including the party’s top congressional leaders and former President Barack Obama.

With breathtaking speed, she took control of Mr. Biden’s enormous political operation and contacted more than 100 party officials, leaders of labor unions and activist organizations, and Democratic leaders in Congress and state houses to ask for their support. The Biden campaign formally renamed itself “Harris for President,” giving her immediate access to an account that had $96 million in cash at the end of June. On an internal call, the Biden campaign’s leaders told staff members that they would now work for Ms. Harris.

“I will do everything in my power to unite the Democratic Party — and unite our nation — to defeat Donald Trump and his extreme Project 2025 agenda,” Ms. Harris said in a statement. “We have 107 days until Election Day. Together, we will fight. And together, we will win.”

List: Which Democrats Have Endorsed Kamala Harris for President - The New York Times - final update: July 24

How did Kamala Harris wrap up the Democratic nomination in 32 hours?
It was a remarkable display of unity for a political party famous for its tendency to form a circular firing squad. In between 2:00 PM EST on July 21, when it became known that President Joe Biden would not run again, and 9:48 PM EST on July 22, when the Associated Press announced that Vice President Kamala Harris had the support of enough convention delegates to win the nomination—the oldest political party in the world replaced the nominee chosen in the primaries.

... In a much-anticipated press conference following the NATO Summit in Washington, Biden failed to erase the impression that he was simply too old for the job even though he spoke intelligently about complex foreign policy issues.
Then describing the party drama llama between that debate and that dropping out.
During those three weeks, pundits came up with ways to hold a “mini primary” or some process by which the party could replace Biden. While interesting and creative, these plans all had the same flaws; the party already had a process for replacing Biden—it was called the Democratic National Convention. There was simply no time to organize any pre-convention activities, and no one else seemed interested in running for the Democratic nomination.

AOC went on Instagram to describe what she experienced - some party leaders wanted not only JB but also KH out. But as the article points out, what was the alternative?

It was too late for some alternative primary process, and they didn't want the Democratic Convention to be the first brokered one in decades.

After describing the delegates lining up behind KH in a day and a half, the article got into how she won. She won by convincing a lot of behind-the-scenes party members.
For much of the public, Kamala Harris was the 2020 candidate who dropped out before the first primary, but for many of the people in Ken Martin’s world, she was a more mature candidate and a familiar and welcome presence.

Finally, "That is how Harris achieved a modern political miracle."

Biden says it was his ‘obligation to the country’ to drop out of presidential race | US elections 2024 | The Guardian - Sun 11 Aug 2024 11.00 EDT - "In interview, president says if Trump wins a second term it would be ‘a genuine danger to American security’"
“Although I have the great honor to be president, I think I have an obligation to the country to do the most important thing you can do, and that is we must, we must, we must defeat Trump,” he said.

Biden said he did not take the decision lightly, and made it in consultation with his family at home in Delaware. At the time, he said, he still believed he could win in November, but events had “moved quickly” after weeks of pressure and growing unease inside his party that, at 81, he was too old for the rigors of a second term.
He said that he was sick in that disastrous debate.
“The polls we had showed that it was a neck-and-neck race, it would have been down to the wire. But what happened was a number of my Democratic colleagues in the House and Senate thought that I was gonna hurt them in the races and I was concerned if I stayed in the race that would be the topic.

“I thought it would be a real distraction. [When] I ran the first time I thought of myself being a transition president. I can’t even say how old I am. It’s hard for me to get out of my mouth. Things got moving so quickly. And the combination was … a critical issue for me still … is maintaining this democracy.”
Nancy Pelosi in another interview:
“I did not think we were on a path to victory,” she said, adding that she “wanted the decision to be a better campaign so that we could win”.

Pelosi praised Biden as a “pre-eminent” president. “He’s right there among the top few, a very consequential president,” she said.

If Trump is a genuine danger to American security, then as President he has both the right (as recently confirmed by the Supreme Court), and the duty (as outlined in his oath of office), to assassinate Trump.

I presume that there are Predator drones orbiting above Mar-a-Lago as we speak...

Absolutely. As I’ve been saying ad nauseum. If he’s not up to the task he should resign and let Kami do it.
