Brandon's losing the plot

Poor Joe;

President Joe Biden fumbled around his words as he tried to explain why he still has no plans to visit East Palestine after a toxic train derailment devastated the small Ohio community. As he was leaving the White House on Friday to head to his Wilmington, Delaware residence, a reporter asked Biden if he was going to travel to East Palestine after his administration had been accused of ignoring the city's plight.
The president answered, 'At this point, I'm not,' but then he appeared confused and strained as he tried to explain himself.

'I did a whole video, I mean, um, what the hell, on,' Biden rambled as he looked for reporters to fill in the gap. 'Zoom?' one of the reporters said, trying to help the president. 'Zoom! All I can think of every time I think of Zoom is that song in my generation, Who's Zoomin' Who,' he said, referencing the Aretha Franklin song.

Daily Mail

Watching the video is painful. It’s actually quite sad.

There is no way this guy is running for another term.

Biden is in Ireland for some reason;

Mr Biden said he was wearing a shamrock tie given to him by rugby-player Rob Kearney - a distant relative - saying approvingly that he 'beat the hell out of the Black and Tans'. The Blacks and Tans was an auxilliary police force sent to Ireland in the 1920s to counter IRA extremism - pilloried in Republican folk songs for their brutality. The group was notably singled out in the pro-IRA song, 'Come Out, Ye Black And Tans', still popular with Irish rebel bands. However, the White House website attempted to smooth over the situation by clarifying its official record to refer to the All Blacks - the New Zealand Rugby team. UUP Stormont assembly member Tom Elliott said there were 'significant concerns' in the unionist community about Mr Biden favouring the Irish side. 'Most of the gaffes are against the British or the unionist community... he doesn't even try to be neutral on those occasions,' he told Talk TV.

Daily Mail

Biden is one crazy, mixed up old geezer.

And this guy intends to run for a second term? :hysterical:

Let's Go Brandon!

Oh my... so Biden made a gaffe... switching up a famous sports name (that maybe 1 in 20 (1 in 50?) Americans know) with one local historical reference (that maybe 1 in 1000 (1 in 10,000?) Americans know). Oh my.

Thank goodness you read The Daily Mail or sub to the Angry White Guy news aggregator... or this shocking and historic gaffe might have been never noticed.

It may just be another "gaffe" to you but Brandon is in Ireland where these things are very, very important.

Four more years, you have to be kidding me.

and what alternatives do you have to offer anyone, at this point? All of them, worse? Whitmer from Michigan might be a sell. Who else?

Trump and deSantis certainly are not any sell. A madman and a right Wing statist. Cough it up, don't sneak around and hide it; what do you want?

What happened to "fuck their feelings"? A gaffe is a gaffe... its a mistake. President Biden is notorious for it. He doesn't think that the rugby player defeated a bunch of thugs in the 20s.

If this is the worst of it... and it is bothering you that much, you need to switch to decaf.

What happened to "fuck their feelings"?
Your usual gibberish, I have no idea what you are referring to and whatever it is, nothing I said.

To you but Tom Elliot didn't see it that way.

Four more years. You're having a laugh.

Tom Elliot is a complete tit, and has made a career out of being outraged at the very existence of the Republic of Ireland. He's infamous for attempting to corrupt the Northern Irish court system to protect a large scale government benefits fraudster, who is a fellow loyalist, and for repeatedly having to withdraw and/or apologise for defamatory and insulting statements about Irish nationalists, the Republic of Ireland, and the GAA*

If you're relying on the fact that Mr Elliot was outraged about something as an indication of whether it is a significant thing, then you clearly have no idea who Mr Elliot even is. Getting outraged over trivia, as an excuse to go off on an extreme and vile rant against the Irish Republicans, is his entire raison d'être.

*This GAA. Clearly a bunch of political extremists.
The Association today promotes Gaelic games such as Hurling, Football, Handball and Rounders and works with sister organisations to promote Ladies Football and Camogie. The Association also promotes Irish music, song and dance and the Irish language as an integral part of its objectives. The GAA has remained an amateur Association since its founding. Players, even at the highest level, do not receive payment for playing and the volunteer ethos remains one of the most important aspects of the GAA.

I'm having a laugh about the idea that a life-long public servant and well-meaning old white guy is somehow worse than a life-long organized crime boss that has told over 40,000 lies during his presidency with 100% of his goals formed around grifting his supporters.
That IS pretty funny.

Intellectually you came be against Biden and not supportive of Trump. Politically that is likely not possible.

I can easily imagine disagreeing with Biden without being a Trump supporter, or critiquing particular policies of his. But I can't imagine anyone hating someone as moderate and uninteresting as Joe Biden, unless that person has been well and innoculated against reality by the spin of the conservative news engine. And Trump is tied to that media network in deep and fundamental ways. His public persona was borne from the amniotic waters of Fox News rhetoric, and its descendant companies will always give air time to his prerogatives.

Let's just say it like it is......Biden is sane, but of course he's not perfect and sadly, he's inherited a mess from his forerunner. Trump is a malignant narcissist with manic tendencies.

Biden. isn't trying to destroy what democracy we have left, while Trump is one of the biggest threats to democracy in my lifetime and I'm older than most of you. Biden has acquired some wisdom with age. Trump probably can't even spell the word wisdom, but he's very good at projecting his traits on others. I'll give him at that.

And, talk about a cult. Trump has managed to make the entire Republican Party into a cult.

Biden may be not insane but he is definitely senile. And people who control this senile idiot are insane and dangerous.
It's not a good choice, both parties are utter scam.

ok, let's go ahead and accept that it does not feel like a GOOD choice to you, personally... whatever a GOOD CHOICE would look like.... how about you share which of the two is a LESS GOOD choice and why?
Both Charles Manson and Myself are two "LESS-THAN-GOOD" candidates for President... is that the end of it? Charles Manson and I are identical choices because we are both in the category in proximity to "not perfect"? OR, maybe, one might be able to say which of us (the Serial Killer or law-abiding Engineer) is the "LESS-BAD" choice?

Forgetting things occasionally isn't senility.

Exactly. Forgetting to take the chicken out of the oven is not senility. Forgetting to take the cat out of the freezer is.

Senility lies in the eye of the beholder, and Rs are going to make every effort to see every conceivable flaw Biden has, and some he does not, when it suits their purpose to do so. The evidence that his staff are 'insane and dangerous' also lies in the eyes of the beholder, and the kind of governance those beholders are seeking. The critics usually turn out to be hard line Conservative Rightists, people who have their own agenda.

Interesting mention of Charles Manson. I've seen articles by psychologists and linguists that Manson and Trump have similar pathologies, and similar diction. Here's a YouTube comparing their facial expressions.
