Climate Change(d)?

Yeah, reducing public spending as a means to cutting taxes is a real hallmark of Marxism.

Marxism (n.)

Any political decision with which I disagree, or which is made by a person I do not like, particularly a member of an opposing political party.

cf. Fascism, Nazism

La is burning and people are pointing fingers.

Biden is being blamed. Of course the leaders of La a re Marxists. Marxist in the land of greed and conspicuous consumption. Marxist inn the land of Hollywood corporate greed and exploitation.

Of course, it is all part of those wealthy California Marxists.

All that personal wealth yet govt can not afford adequate fire departments. We see it it Washington, fire departments underfunded.

Of course there are Libertarians who oppose paying taxes for community emergency services, and now blame govt for the fires.

The increased fire risk due to drier hotter climate has been known for years globally. The Southern California wealthy living in what they thought was a paradise just got a wake up call and reality check.

President Donald Trump will withdraw the United States from the Paris climate deal, the White House said on Monday. The announcement is part of Trump's broader agenda to boost U.S. oil and gas production, and to 'drill baby drill!' America's second withdrawal is likely to take less time, perhaps as little as a year, because Trump will not be bound by the deal's initial three-year commitment.

Daily Mail

Good news indeed.

Time and events may prove it to be the opposite.

One can always ignore the facts.

The Paris deal, like the ones before it, were exercises in pretending to do something. As such, they are of negative value.

He's being a stopped clock here.

Wealth be like that. Though, dropping out does score him beaucoup virtue signaling points with the beloved. The US was producing larger and larger amounts of carbon fuels since Obama during the Paris Agreement. Fracking popped the US to the top. You'd swear that Trump discovered carbon fuels.

It'd be nice if we shifted to nuclear so we could heat homes with carbon free electric instead of carbon based electric. And certainly electric cars fueled by carbon electric is silly. Cart and horse level stuff.

“Our fossil fuel addiction is a Frankenstein’s monster, sparing nothing and no one. All around us, we see clear signs that the monster has become master,” Guterres said in a speech days after 2024 was revealed to have been the hottest year on record and Donald Trump began his second term as US president by pulling the country out of the Paris climate agreement and pledging to “drill, baby, drill” for more oil and gas. The fossil fuel industry gave $75m (£60m) to Trump’s campaign. Guterres said: “What we are seeing today – sea-level rise, heatwaves, floods, storms, droughts and wildfires – are just a preview of the horror movie to come.”

Addiction? Frankenstein? This man is bonkers.

Prof Mark Maslin, a climatologist at University College London, said: “Trump may slow down the transition away from fossil fuels and allow other countries to delay action. But the writing is on the wall both politically and economically for fossil fuels. It is when, not if, fossil fuels cease to be used as an energy source.”

Another delusional "climatologist". Demand for fossil fuels is increasing and there is not a thing that will be done to stop the demand being met,

It is a catastrophic 75 degrees in Santa Monica today.

I expect Tswizzle may have had his reality check, no need to kick him when he is down.

No doubt Hollywood is already working on an LA disaster movie script based on the fire. The ghoulish Hollywood moguls.
I see no evidence whatsoever of such a change in perspective, but I am glad that neither Tswizzle nor his house burned to the groind. These are dangerous times, and despite what the street preachers and radio shock jocks may assert, ideology is no defense against combustion.

And there may be worse to come.
It can only get so bad, unless the wealthy ramp up the import of fire fuel to the area.
The wealthy classes did exactly that in California! Up until the 19th century the coastal regions weren't nearly flammable enough to burn down catastrophically on any sort of regular basis, so our ancestors in their brilliance clear cut all the naturally fire resistant redwoods, ironwoods, standing ferns, and bunch grasses, and replaced them with imported gum trees and decorative riparians that are basically very tall matchbooks. They also killed nearly everyone in the state who knew anything about local fire risk management in massive, sweeping genocides. From a risk assessment perspective, 19th century California was not exactly a high point in the history of "planning ahead for things".

The native scrub oak burns with incredible intensity.
