It's gifted. Yes she voted for Trump.
Surely she understands that her sacrifice is part of what will make America great again, right? Does she not have faith in her orange jesus?
Did you read the article (which gives insight into her thinking)?
Insulting her is ignorant and unfair; and is symptom of an intolerance which turned off poorly-informed but centrist voters, and thereby helped elect the Monster.
She had voted for Biden. Despite despising Trump she succumbed to his lie about making IVF free -- a promise that was specifically important to her. She also accepted his lie that he would not pursue the "Project 2025 agenda."
Voting on character rather than issues would have cured her error, but that's no panacea generally: GW Bush came across as "nicer" than Al Gore; and Bill Clinton was a possibly-corrupt womanizer.
Many liberals also believed that Trump was not lying as blatantly as we now know he was. "We survived Trump-45. Trump-47 will be about the same" was an ignorant refrain frequently encountered on message boards. And don't forget that
many Americans pay
very little attention to politics; their vote is based on a tiny number of snippets.
Am I an especially good judge of character? I listen to the smarmy diction of Trump and automatically detest him regardless of his politics. Are many Americans such very bad judges of character? I realize that some relish wallowing in smarmy bullshit, but surely these are exceptions.
Blah blah blah. The ONLY solution I can offer is the drastic one of
abolishing all social media, indirectly responsible for much of today's political problems. Polarization has been weaponized in the U.S. (and U.K.?); some other democracies may not have plunged into the abyss yet. Blah blah. HTH. Blah blah.
