Perhaps if you could explain what you envision as “reward“ to Hamas that would make these results worthwhile to them, readers lacking your fertile imagination might make sense of your last sentence.

Hamas' attack on Oct 7th results in the creation of a Palestinian state and their having a role in said state.

Hamas won't allow Palestine to become a free state. Again, that isn't the goal. Palestine being a free state is a liability to Hamas.

Europe and Canada are floating the idea, but the idea would only be allowed if certain conditions that will never be met, are met. And the 10/7 attack isn't what led to this, it is the 20 to 22 month relentless attack on Gaza that has. Netanyahu isn't letting up, and the gains being made seem to be nonexistent at this point.

I'd say we are likely to find younger people in the US that will feel Hamas is fighting the good fight, mainly because they grew up in an era where Gaza has been isolated. This isolation comes with a lot of context that younger people simply haven't lived to see. And of course, some of that context goes beyond my years, in fact most people's years.

I think the best way to communicate with these people is to call them names.

Twelve year olds rarely, if ever, join any organization without parental permission and usually prodding. When it comes to religious or political groups, it is nearly a 100% chance it wasn’t the kids’ idea to join or to be involved. In religious families, even less likely the kid joined on their own. Judging by my own limited ( my choice) experience with all religious ‘youth groups,’ there is some heavy duty indoctrination going on. And these were very mainstream groups. Even Girl Scouts was fairly indoctrination driven and assumed church affiliation.

It is also possible to understand that the reason you don't hear much discussion about Hamas atrocities is because everyone agrees they're atrocities and no one thinks they're justified. Discussions tend to focus on things in dispute.

I look forward to that time when you will congratulate the IDF for something they have done to Hamas. As I have said previously with no apparent response. If/when the IDF commits accused atrocoities, war crimes then let them be investigated and any guilty be severeley punished.
