Merged Gaza just launched an unprovoked attack on Israel

To denote when two or more threads have been merged
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court in Israel ruled that the gov’t of Israel is failing to provide adequate food to Palestinian detainees/prisoners, and that it must provide adequate food. The ruling does not apply to Gaza.

Does that make the Supreme Court of Israel antisemitic or just those reporting the ruling?

At no point have Isreal been starving anyone. When Israel started shipping food to Gaza they cut down food anywhere else in the system, in order to help Gazans as much as possible. This includes the prison system.

It was ruled that food was too restricted in their prison system. This isn’t about starvation. It has to do with not giving prisoners optimal nutrition. Which they are bound to do by law. Because its not a fascist dictatorship.

From reporting there is some dissent civil and militray over the war.

That being said we are seeing Netanyahu and his conservative backers going off the rails. Attacking Qatar and saying they might do it again.

Qatr tres to brker peace, Isreal atatcks Qatar. What dies that tell you?

Now broaching taking the whole if the West V Bank.

Religion, race, ethnicity, and nationalism gone wild.

The long term Israeli goal has always been establishing what they think were boundaries from 2000 years ago.

Zionism.

The Declaration of the Establishment of the State of Israel (1948) states Israel will be a Jewish state, open to Jewish immigration for the ingathering of exiles, but also promises equal rights for all its inhabitants regardless of religion, race, or sex. It was proclaimed by David Ben-Gurion on May 14, 1948, and sought to establish the state while building a society based on liberty, justice, and peace, appealing to the Arab population to become full citizens in the new nation.

You do not immigrate and get get citizenship if you are not Jewish. Non Jews insie when Israeli was declared got citizenship.

As to equal rights, that gas never been completely true. There has been talk of expelling all ARabs.

Pew study finds 79% believe Jews should get preferential treatment over Arab citizens; number of those who believe settlements are helpful to Israel’s security growing; majority identify as centrist

The op-ed testifies to the growing prominence of what was once an extremist position within Israel: the call to push the remaining Palestinians out of historic Palestine. In the 1980s and ’90s, the idea of total Palestinian expulsion—prohibited under international law—was the sole bailiwick of extremist politicians such as Rehavam Ze’evi and Rabbi Meir Kahane. The proposal was largely absent from mainstream Israeli public discourse in the subsequent decades, but has experienced a quiet resurgence that has paralleled the recent political ascendance of the Israeli far right. In 2016, a Pew survey found that almost half of Israeli Jews supported the idea that Arabs should be “expelled or transferred from Israel.” According to Jewish studies scholar Shaul Magid, the far right’s success in the November 2022 election further “revived the idea of transfer.” As Israelis “increasingly feel that it’s either us or them” in the aftermath of Hamas’s October 7th attacks, Magid said, forced transfer out of Gaza, in particular, has become a live political option.

The comparison to the Nazis crimes against humanity becomes stronger. Historically oppressed due to race and religion are now the oppressors based on religion and race.

Qatar is sheltering the leaders of one of the worst terrorists organisation of the world.

Qatar has picked a side in this conflict

These are people’s feelings. Not the law

Israelis are understandably sick of the behaviour of Arabs. They have every reason to feel annoyed

Which is a natural reaction considering what they've gone through. It still won't happen

While Palestinians have a right to stay in Gaza and the West Bank, if they can't find a way to be cooperative and want to live in peace with Jews, it might be necessary to move them.

We can't keep encouraging a whole people to be unreasonable decade after decade. When is the limit of everyone's patience reached?

It is official, Israel is making a major expansion of settlements in the West Bank. More Palestinians displaced by Jewish settlers.

It is all well past Jews being the victim and making excuses. Actions speak for themselves.

Palestinians living in peace? Israel was formed by seizing land and preventing Arabs from returning to their land.

It is a de facto genocide. I see no other way but to call Israel a racist state.

A nearby synagogue hosts a monthly dinner and I was planning on attending one. Not interested any more.

Mossad said no to Doha strike, so Netanyahu had IDF do it instead.
article said:
The Mossad director, David Barnea, opposed killing the Hamas officials in Qatar partly because such an action could rupture the relationship he and his agency had cultivated with the Qataris, who had been hosting Hamas and mediating ceasefire talks between the militant group and Israel, these people said.

The Mossad’s reservations about a ground operation ultimately influenced how the strike was carried out and perhaps its likelihood of its success, and they reflected a broader opposition within the Israeli security establishment to the attack ordered by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. While Israeli security officials widely agree that all Hamas leaders, including those living overseas, should be eventually pursued and killed, many questioned the timing of the operation, given that the Hamas officials were gathering in Qatar, a major U.S. ally, and that these officials were mulling a proposal from President Donald Trump to free Israeli hostages held in Gaza in exchange for a ceasefire in the Gaza war.

Unless that synagogue supports Netanahyu or settlement expansion, why not go? After all, the synagogue is not Israel.

It is a reformed synagogue. Meaning on the liberal side.

I would have a hard time avoiding Gaza.

I can not avoid thinking Gaza represents Jewish culture in general. An arrogance based in the bible god.

That being aid, there have been Jewish American protests against the war, sometimes side by side with Palestinians.

Israel won the Six day war fair and square. A defensive war. They have every right to seize it.

Israel have been super nice about it since 1967. But since they only have gotten shit for it, even though they have kept protecting Palestinian rights, why not seize it?

In this war its been made pretty clear that the world is antisemitic and they need to take greater precautions in defending themselves.

Like it or not, the Golan heights is. strategicaly significant. Whoever controls it can obliterate Israel. Especially in the age of drone warfare.

Seizing it is the strategically smart move. And they've already won the war for it.

It was as much formed by Jews getting their lands seized and being kicked off it. But I guess that doesn't matter to you?

Another antisemitic statement by you. Like any nation Israel has a right to defend itself

Ha ha. The local Synagoge consists of Jews who don't live in Israel and have such nothing to do with Zionism. Yet you connect them. Thanks for giving a good example of how racism works

Are you also going to stop associating with blacks now because the Sudanese government comits ethnic cleansing

I wonder if the metaphorical shoe was on the other foot (instead of in the mouth) would you have the same view?

Dr Z need a new moral compass. His compass keeps pointing south intended of north.

The trouble began with Jews arbitrarily declaring a state by force taking land and disparaging people.

Since then it has been a slow motion ethnic cleansing. Today Netanyahu is acceleration herding West Bank Palestinians into smaller and smaller areas. Making way for Jewish colonization.

I’m just wondering where all of us Americans of European descent are going to live, after we rightfully return all the land once inhabited by the Native American tribes back to them.
We won’t all fit, in Gaza…

The same place. We'd just pay tax to a local authority instead of to Washington. Is that such an awful thought?

The casinos would not be as important or popular in a world where being Indian didn't mean grinding poverty for most.
