Reflection Pool-Gate

Nobodygate.
Looks like it was closed.

That may seem strange but every time I look at that photo and see that group of people on the right beyond the stupid arch, I think of the munks pounding their heads with wood boards in The Holy Grail.

Personally, I think it's appropriate. The first Preaident who believes green comes first.

It’s a reflecting pool.
It’s reflecting Trump’s stupidity, incompetence, greed and disregard for the welfare of the people from whom he is stealing.
ETA: is that @TSwizzle next to the pop-up tent in the left foreground?

Thank you Toni. I will laugh for the rest of the day while still uncomfortable that you guys are living with this shit.

At least no-one got shot.

...and the tarp is STILL up at the Kennedy Center. Our President -- who tells us all the time that the world used to laugh at us, but now respects us -- (despite the fact that he is the only President who was openly jeered at, during an address to the UN) -- is such a snowflake that he can't bear to have his failures on display.

Well that's just because Trump's a lying, lawless, racist, sexist, corrupt, fascist, cruel, evil piece of shit. It's natural to think less of him.

It was the least I could do, to share that but, given that we don’t just get to enjoy Trump all by ourselves but have in too many ways foisted our joy onto the rest of the world.

I still cannot read it aloud without being overcome by laughter.

it is hilarious satire on multiple levels. Truly a masterpiece.

It brings guffaws even during a 3rd reading.

If we're going to have this giant ass thing maintained like a swimming pool, you can expect that we need about 20 pool boys. They'll need to show up every other day with super long pool skimmers picking out leaves and other debris. Then, every week, they'll need to add chemicals to the water on a massive scale. When fall approaches, they'll need to cover it up and winterize it, and in late spring, they'll uncover it, costing a million dollars each time.

There should be a motorized full-width cleaning screen that travels the entire length of the pool every morning at 3am.
No reason for 20 pool boys.
And a sign:
“NO MOTORCADES NO MATTER HOW BIG A TANTRUM THE TODDLER THROWS!!”

Have you asked Melania about that?

Have you asked Melania about that?
Whatever Mel does with her 20 pool boys, that’s fine. But do they have to “do it” on the National Mall? In broad daylight??!!
Hell with Melania.
I want 20 hot pool boys in patriotic colored speedos swinging their "nets" around!
Tom
Invest in Trumpcoin and you’ll be able to buy them by next week!
I don't wanna pay for them any more than Trump paid for the new pool liners.
That's for taxpayers.

The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool’s lining likely peeled away because the material was installed incorrectly, experts told The Washington Post, which sent reporters to the site as President Donald Trump has regularly raged about “vandalism” — including with a knife –damaging the iconic spot.

Instead of vandalism, the outlet found seven places where the lining peeled away along the seams — indicating errors in its application, according to experts who reviewed the findings.

The lining is a waterproof membrane painted onto the concrete basin, The Post reported, noting the peeling their reporters observed was in “irregularly shaped patches” which varied from a few inches to as long as six feet.

In one place in the reflecting pool, reporters could see the concrete below the lining, the paper said.

They used satellite images and photos and videos from before and after the renovation to help identify the problems and experts who examined the material said the peeling “strongly suggested errors in the application process,” according to the outlet.

The White House slammed the report, telling The Post, “There were no missteps during the initial repairs to the pool.”

Initial repairs to the pool? That is oddly qualified.

What is really mind-wrecking is that this could have been a simple maintenance gaffe, many might not have even notice. Instead, Trump made such a big bloody deal over the fix that everyone turned and looked. And it failed immediately, primarily because Trump wanted it done too fast! The last contractor said it couldn't be done and walked away. So they found someone who would say it could be done... and for 4x the price. And when it failed, the Trump Admin had Park Services arrest people and take someone to trial! Someone had their civil rights violated because Trump's sense of pride had been violated. Thankfully the guy wasn't murdered like the two protestors in Minnesota at least.

The pool alone is 25th Amendment worthy. Ignoring all of his other on job experience failures, the inability of him and his Admin to even manage such a relatively small and inconsequential fuck up implies he and the entire administration has no business being anywhere near power in DC. ...and meanwhile, he marches us to a global energy crisis... again!
