"When she called us a punk, and she didn't have anything to do with the situation, everyone in the store is against us looking at us crazy, (and) we didn’t do anything," Lee told the Post-Dispatch. "I was totally embarrassed, and we're the only ones defending ourselves against everyone in the store."
Upon leaving the Nordstrom Rack, the students said they were greeted by Brentwood Police in the parking lot, who informed them that the store had accused them of shoplifting. KMOV reports that, after a brief investigation, the teens were let go without charges.

Does a low-level incident like this really require a company president to travel to St. Louis to apologize in person? Would he have done the same if some white teens were accused of shoplifting? Or is this yet another example of black privilege?
Fox46 Charlotte said:A store employee told police that a black male wearing a plaid red, white and blue shirt grabbed the various sizes of Arizona Boys Jeans and ran out of the store, located at 2301 Dave Lyle Boulevard.
Not white either though. Funny though. It's OK though... they weren't black

I think you should write to him and ask him?Does a low-level incident like this really require a company president to travel to St. Louis to apologize in person? Would he have done the same if some white teens were accused of shoplifting?
How is being abased and wrongly accused of shoplifting an example of "privilege"? And on what bizarre basis does one figure that a company president personally apologizing for the misbehavior of the employees a form of "privilege" on the part of the victims, let alone "black privilege"?Or is this yet another example of black privilege?
Is this another example of white hate-boner privilege? On the other hand, in South Carolina we have a real life Tracy:
$1,000+ worth of jeans stolen from Rock Hill JCPenney

Derec, real question:
What kind of site(s) do you subscribe to that make you aware of so many infractions by black people and women and at the same time, so ignorant of the bad behavior of white male people?
I'm just curious. Do you have these sites bookmarked? Do they send black criminal alerts to your email address? How do you do that?
Not white either though. Funny though. It's OK though... they weren't black
On a more serious side, not all Starbucks are equally busy re sit down custom and the business varies by day. Downtown locations tend to be busier than suburban ones for example.
If the place is not very busy, I can see the management be much more lenient than at peak times. Also, with downtown locations the "customer only" requirement is necessary because of the homeless population, lest businesses look like the Atlanta/Fulton County central library on Forsyth, which has pretty much degenerated into a homeless day shelter, especially the bathrooms.
It was a rhetorical question.I think you should write to him and ask him?
What happens after is example of privilege. For example getting free college for getting kicked out of a Starbucks. I wonder what these teens will get as their reward. How is being abased and wrongly accused of shoplifting an example of "privilege"?
Because it would never have happened with a white person wrongly accused of shoplifting. And on what bizarre basis does one figure that a company president personally apologizing for the misbehavior of the employees a form of "privilege" on the part of the victims, let alone "black privilege"?
Nope.Is this another example of white hate-boner privilege?
None of the above. You have some strange notions of my Internet habits. This particular crime I found out about from a tweet, believe it or not.Derec, real question:
What kind of site(s) do you subscribe to that make you aware of so many infractions by black people and women and at the same time, so ignorant of the bad behavior of white male people?
I am curious too. Where do Underseer and the rest of you get all the stories of poor, victimized blacks? I mean, that story on AirBnB Underseer got from the girl's Facebook, it hadn't even made the news at the time.I'm just curious. Do you have these sites bookmarked? Do they send black criminal alerts to your email address? How do you do that?
Well that's CEO privilege. Nobody is denying that CEOs, regardless of race, are extremely privileged. It's privilege that one can just hop on a plane to make one look good and caring.
I think you either think first class tickets cost much more than they do or you think programs benefiting a large number of people cost much less than they do.I think if he's interested in helping, instead, he should apologize, increase awareness with a program, and then use the money for the first class, immediate plane ticket to help disadvantaged youth with prom clothes from his store with a big discount.
In other words, white hate boner whining. It was a rhetorical question.
What are you babbling about? What happens after is example of privilege. For example getting free college for getting kicked out of a Starbucks. I wonder what these teens will get as their reward.
Another example of white honer boner whining.Because it would never have happened with a white person wrongly accused of shoplifting.
Wrong, as well as your entire response.Nope.

Derec said:Second, we do not know these kids were "disadvantaged"?
Derec said:And why should disadvantaged people get discounts for luxury stores when there are reasonably prices stores selling clothes?

Wrong again. As usual.Twitter would have been a fine answer. So you just follow rightwing white power figures. Got it.
No, you are assuming. Like you did with "white power figures". I don't even know any, much less their Twitter handles.I have no idea what your internet habits are. That is why I asked.
Same for me for major news. I get many others from Internet fora and social media, including on here.I get almost all of my news from major national news sources, with local news as a more minor source.
Him being able to travel at the drop of the hat is CEO privilege. Black people getting benefits like free college education over a minor incident is black privilege. Two different things, two different privileges. Do try to keep up.You're changing the subject as you said his actions were black privilege and now you are saying they are CEO privilege. His actions are an attempt at damage control and what enables him to do it is money.
So you would give discounts to select few. Should there be some sort of lottery, or?Derec said:No, you are wrong on both counts. First, I clearly mentioned that a second factor other than first class ticket was the last-minute nature of getting the ticket which makes it more expensive. Second, nowhere did I write that the same money could be used on a large number of people.
I don't know why these teens were suspected of shoplifting. Maybe the employees or customers were racist. Maybe they behaved oddly. We do not know.So just to be clear you think this is a racism issue and not a classism issue, right?
You did write something about deep discounts for the disadvantaged. What did you actually mean?I did not write that disadvantaged kids should get discounts generally and maybe I think that or maybe I don't. Since I did not write it, I don't care to assert it now. Instead, what I wrote is that if he really cares.
You are projecting. In other words, white hate boner whining.
The two from the Starbucks incident got free college education at ASU. Did you not hear about that? What are you babbling about?
You are the one who is wrong, as always.Wrong, as well as your entire response.
