Covid-19 miscellany

Less than 500 according to the CDC.

How many kids who became infected then infected someone else?

Quite low I’d wager.

Why do you think kids are unlikely to spread the infection? They tend not to sanitize or distance very well, because they're kids. And there are reasons to avoid vaccination for young people without fully developed immune systems.

But I see no reason to think that they're less likely to spread a virus than anyone else.

You've asserted, without evidence, that kids with Covid don't spread it to others very much.

Which is true if you care to look into it.

You could be a little more clear, considering the assertions you've made.

People under age for getting vaccinated are a small demographic compared to people over the age. Is that what you're talking about? Fewer in number than people 18+ years old, therefore less likely to transmit an infection?

Otherwise, your point seems quite contradicted by facts.

No, it isn't.

The most recent lockdown in Queensland was required to eradicate the outbreak depicted in the above graphic. This cluster was analysed in great detail, with each case traced back to the person who infected the individual, and confirmed with full genome sequencing of the virus for every patient (something only possible because we had no other cases in the state at the time).

It's clear from this outbreak that the most significant vectors were children; And transmission both in schools, and between schools at extracurricular activities, was the main route by which the virus spread from one family to another. In most cases, adults either contracted the virus from their own children, or from children that they taught or supervised.

You are simply wrong. Which, as you have provided zero evidence to support your claims, should surprise nobody.

I disagree. Other kids and teachers/school workers quickly were overcome with COVID when Florida started school. It wasn't until the county required masks and quarantining that the numbers dropped.

It's safe to say "I'd wager" where wagering is prohibited (strongly discouraged) and there's no chance of someone taking your money. Right, Swiz?

Others have addressed your faulty claim that kids are not likely to spread Covid.

You still have not answered now many people it's OK for a drunk driver to injure or kill. 1, 2, 5, 10+ people? Or Zero? That's directly analogous to going around unvaccinated.

If you understood the situation, or were honest about the situation, you'd know that death is not the only possible outcome. Do recall that sick kids can make others sick and there is such a thing known as long Covid in kids. For Christ sake. Learn something or admit that you think it's OK to endanger others for no good reason.

Recent data from Wuhan--half of those hospitalized still have long Covid.

Just to add...

If we legalized drunk driving, it'd be worse.

Also, the death statistics we see for children (and everyone else) would be much worse if we did not have policies like masking, social distancing, vaccinations etc etc.

So it's a little unnerving to not post for a while and check in to this thread to see someone saying "BUT LOOK ONLY THIS MANY CHILDREN DIE!!1111!one"

Woman on bullhorn says if COVID is so bad then why aren’t the homeless all dead in the streets? Homeless guy yells back “I’m vaccinated ya dumb fuck!”

If you don't believe that children die from covid or that children spread covid and you don't believe that masks work to stop the spread of covid then indeed masking children in school makes no sense.

I heard about that this morning. Made me chuckle.

Maryland man allegedly fatally shot his pharmacist brother for ‘killing people’ with the COVID vaccine, court records show

A Cumberland man allegedly killed his brother and sister-in-law in their Ellicott City home last week because his brother, a pharmacist, administered COVID-19 vaccines, according to charging documents filed Wednesday in a Howard County court.

Jeffrey Burnham told his mother he had to confront his older brother, Brian Robinette, because he was poisoning people by administering the COVID-19 vaccine, telling his mother, “Brian knows something,” according to the new charging documents filed against Burnham.

Burnham is being held without bond in Allegany County, where he is charged with stabbing Rebecca Reynolds, 83, to death inside her Cumberland home on Sept. 29. Police said he took her car and fled to Ellicott City, where a day later he killed Robinette, 58, and his wife Kelly Sue Robinette, 57. He faces first and second-degree murder charges in the couples’ deaths.

I am a lot like my dad. He never suffered ignoramouses well. I guess I don't either.

I have complained here about my daughter's boyfriend whose refusal to get vaccinated is causing problems for my family.

I learned tonight another stupid reason he won't get the Pfizer or Maderna. He says that they are made from dead viruses and could give him Covid!!!! WTF? Does he live under a rock? Has he zero curiosity? Does he have no interest in finding the easiest information?

I gave my daughter links for the quickest search. Will he even look at them?

He is also worried about the use of stem cells - religious bullshit. So I also gave her this to give him to read. Does he use Advil or Tums?

I can't stand people with zero curiosity to actually find facts.

11 year old clip from Penn & Teller's show Bullshit covering vaccinations.

Not a deep scientific analysis, but a fun visualization.
