A day without stupid?

It just cracks me up that the Americans voted for this clown. We all saw it coming what a fuck up he was. They still voted for him. It is fucking funny. And so embarrassing

We didn't see the Russia thing. All the other stuff... well, he has even gone beyond our imaginations there as well. It is one thing to be incompetent. It is another to rant nonsensically in the Rose Garden to the press. And finally, didn't expect Trump to be as leashless as he has been with the GOP.

Remember when Obama was considered unfit for President because he was a thin skinned narcissist with no governing experience who couldn't handle criticism well?

It is the mentality of the narcissistic authoritarian. A man who has been a little dictator his entire adult life.

Any criticism of him is because of some grand scheme somewhere.

It's not because he is an incompetent and ignorant individual who has the mentality of some king in the past because he has lived his life as a pampered prince.

There's no mystery why Trump is the way he is. The big mystery is why anybody voted for that clown. He's clearly unfit for office

While discussing Clarence Thomas's desire to reconsider the laws regarding libel against public figures, CNN says

CNN said:
His position echoes complaints of President Donald Trump, who has called for libel laws to be reconsidered in light of news stories about him, said CNN Supreme Court analyst and University of Texas School of Law professor Steve Vladec.

I do hope Donald gets his way on this. Imagine how much he will end up paying Obama in the lawsuit over the birther claims. (Yes, that is slander, not libel, but I'm sure it would address both.)

Hey, we do have some competition. John Oliver provided a nice example the other day

John Oliver introduced the mug after an interview with a guy (starting around 10:15) who has a fresh cut flower business, where much of his produce comes from the rest of the EU, and he voted for Brexit but wasn't really thinking about the impact to their families decades old business. Hopefully he has been given one of those mugs for free.

After 2 plus years of daily doses of utter stupidity, I'm guessing even most people here are getting numb to the daily barrage...

The part that took me by surprise is that anyone fell for Donald Trump. Ever. I didn't understand how or why he was ever listened to about anything, ever. I vaguely knew he had some sort of dumb ass tv show and I figured that must be because his businesses were circling the toilet or had been flushed but mostly it was just a big WTF? why would anybody be interested in THAT cretin? I mean who the fuck cared what Donald Fucking Trump thought about anything?

Ditto, and I never watched his TV show. I was only vaguely aware of him until the Birther thing. Around 2012, after seeing him interviewed about his team of investigators and what they were supposedly discovering in Honolulu, I mentioned how vile he was to a diner cashier. Big mistake! She not only didn't care about what anyone said about Obama, she said, 'We need someone like Trump to get after the terrorists. I keep waiting for Obama to bomb them. What's he waiting for?' So, yes, not only will I never get how anyone regards this orange dumbass as a thinker ("I know how the world works", etc, etc, yeah, sure) I will never understand in a zillion lifetimes how someone as crude and sadistic and cheap and profane and deceitful (and pro-dictator) as Trump could rise to any prominence in this life, let alone to hold a position of, in loose parlance, "leadership." How depressing. How disgraceful to the GOP. I think I know myself pretty well -- I can't imagine a progressive politician who put forth positions like mine but who had a personality and mouth like Donald's getting my vote. I'd abstain before casting a vote for a man with such catastrophic personality disorders. We have paper ballots here -- I'd feel tainted just touching one with a vote for Trump.

For some people, "Rich-n-Famous" covers a lot of sins.

For some people, riches and fame are the only way to judge a person's character. And if you point out that neither is a good way to judge character, and that indeed both can lead to the amplification of character flaws, they will of course respond by asking 'Well, if you're so smart, why aren't you rich?'

(or more likely, "Well if your so smart why ain't you rich, huh?").

I think the fact that so few people took him seriously was the reason he got elected. Have a look at this clip from an obscure comedian in 2011 and how dismissive he was of Trump:

And he was hardly unique in that sentiment. The good news is that I don't see people being so apathetic towards Trump in the next election and I hope his critics outnumber his supporters.

What happened was people underestimated the general level of ignorance and hatred in the US.

What also happened was a black guy was president for 8 years and there were no scandals. This enraged many Americans who were out for blood in 2016.

Dumb Brits voting to leave the EU.

Dumb Americans voting for an incompetent con man.

Why are these nations such havens for ignorance?
