Millions of people arrive into the USA without incident every year.

That was then. The wife of one of my good friends is German. They have lived here for years, she is still a German Citizen and has a German Passport and a green card that was issued prior to 1989 and does not have an expiration date on it. They are going to Germany next week and staying a month. They are concerned about coming home since she has a "questionable" (but legal and legitimate) green card. They have traveled to Germany quite often over the years with no issues. But this is a new world we live in.

Good grief, this is a story about nothing.

I let you know if she is hassled next month when they come home.

How soon until we see the deportations of any non-citizen critizing what happened here as "being against the foreign policy interests of the United States"?

I'm joining up with an immigrant advocacy group as a volunteer and I'm going to discuss this with their attorneys about the real danger of deportation for any of their non-citizen members that speak up against this. The threat of ICE detention alone is pretty chilling, even if they somehow manage to eventually get released.
